Vehicle is a 2002 Durango with a 4.7. Unsure of transmission model.
Drove home from work and parked it. Left for work that night and the tach was flaring. Would jump or drop anywhere from 500-1000 RPMs and was constant. I felt like I could feel it slipping or neutral out, but it could have just been me over thinking it. Did this for the next three days until I could find a vehicle to drive and drop it off at a transmission shop. Shop is very reputable, and I know many of the employees.
They called this morning and said that after testing and driving it all day yesterday and this morning that there is nothing wrong it. No slipping and no tach flaring.
Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? Electrical issue with the tach or a sensor of some sort? Thanks in advance, guys!
