Im going to the 1/4 mile track tonight and i want to see what other little things i can do to make a diffence in time. I am going to take off the tail gate. Thats just about all i know to do. People say drop the spare but wont that the help the traction? What about air pressure in the tires? Anything else?

Oh and tonights temp is going to be right around 35-40 degrees. Wont that help ?

the temp def will help out and dont loose the tailgate if u keepin the bed cover on. Traction wise these trucks suck so try your best. Air pressure i would drop a few pounds out of it but not too low. If u looking to loose weight out of it loose things up front or take shit out. I know my bike drops a few tenths in 30 degree weather compared to 90 degree weather.

bed cover has been off for awhile...but what about the spare tire, keep it or leave it?

Cold weather will help your engine but it will suck even more for traction!

You can drop the tailgate and spare to shed ~100lbs or so but you will lose some weight that would aid your traction. It's almost a catch 22 there...lol

Good luck!

Now now, I was saying most of the tracks in my neck of the woods will not open. Each track does it differently!

Good luck tonight!
But you still scared me, i was all like, DAMNIT NOOO !!!

My buddy has an 1999 Camero SS that got dynoed yesterday at 428 at the tires. Just put on a 92mm fastman intake ported, underdrve pulleys, TB spacer and mass flow, so i really want to see him run. He ran a 12.2 before, so i guessing high 11s.
