Okay, Ive been seeing the tail gate strip where the area between the tail lights and between the body lines (the flat panel where the tail gate handle is at) has been painted black. I really like that look and I know it will look awesome on my truck.


So what are the steps and grits of sand paper to do this??

haha im in the same boat im really thinking of doing it flat black tsanding around then peeling up the "5.9 R/T" so its red paint. im debating if i should do it or not....

Im gonna do it, I just wont be leaving it flat black, it will be gloss black. I just need to know the steps and grit sand paper needed. :drive:

I was deciding beteen bed side stripes or the tail gate stripe. Its 1 or the other, both would be too much IMO but anyway, this isnt on topic.....

I just did mine this weekend with a strip of vinyl. Cost $38. Looks great in my opinion. I also niteshaded the tailights.

Ben, im not baggin on your friend for an idea you had. It looks cool, its the only reason why im contemplating the idea but not in flat black. If i do it it would be gloss black, and I am looking at doing it in vinyl instead of paint now.

I think it is a good idea but i am not gonna do it cuz i am gonna get a two tone paint job soon and it will look very weird if it is black on the top half of my truck and black on the tail gate strip it would just look weird.

Damn that looks fuckin HAWT!! Aight, next weekend im gonna get my shit done. Wont be paint but gloss black vinyl. Paint could become a real deal depending on how much it will cost me. Thanks for sharing the photo.
