Looks good man, the hole for the hood latch looks better than i thought it would. And yeah the ss inserts are a PITA, but it gets easier the more times you do it and as the clips get older

that hole looks like shit .... :nana: Had to man since we all told ya not too :funny: it actually doesn't look to bad but id rather use the T-bar that comes with the kit ...

It looks good man

Look pretty good. I suppose they'll look better when everything is all cleaned up. So you cut a hole in them for opening the hood? Don't really care for the hole but hey, your truck. :D What's the little SS thing on the bottom?

I didn't have to take my bumper off to put my lowers on but I can remember them being a PITA as well.

i had to cause i couldn't get my fat hand in their to put the clips on....
The hole is for opening the hood.

I don't understand why you did that though? The kit comes with a latch release relocator that keeps you from having to cut a hole. Even without the kit, their are so many different ways to fab up your own latch release.

I guess I'm just picky as my eye went straight to the hole and would drive me nuts.:sorry:

Yeah, my hands aren't exactly small either. I remember they got all scratched up from doing it. You didn't want to modify the stock latch with the one included in the kit? I didn't really want to when I did mine but I did and I'm glad I did.

When i had my R/T i had a billet grille and a relocated hood latch and i hated it witha pasion....i could barly get my hands under the grille to open the hood....it was a pain...i think the hole in the grille is way easier the relocating the hood latch.....

I should make a sticky for my SS tips someday - I know I've posted it at least a dozen times...

How to install the lower pieces without manging your fingers or removing the bumper:

Do this one section (out of 4) at a time...

Step 1: Hold the grille piece in place by hand where you want it installed, and visually estimate where the 4 clips will need to be set to grab onto the grille. Use a grease pencil if necessary. Remove the grille piece.

Step 2: Pre-install the clips. Based on Step #1's locations, pre-install the 4 clips into the bumper. Push nice and hard on the backside of the bumper so the barbs are set into the plastic.

Step 3: Hold the grille piece in place by hand just in front of the clips. Slip a thin-bladed screwdriver through one of the grille gaps in front of a clip, and use it to lift the clip upward - just enough so the grille can slide under the clip. Push that corner of the grille in place, set the clip onto the grille, then remove the screwdriver. Repeat this for the other 3 corners.

Repeat this process for the other 3 panels. Once you get the hang of lifting/setting the clips it should take about 5-10 minutes to do the whole grille, tops.

It don't bother me at all....other grilles you buy like cloud rider, lund, etc all have holes for the hood latch...and i am very picky to but it don't bother me at all...i like the hole their!

That's a bumper position issue though. Even with a bumper cover over my factory bumper once the inside hood release is pulled, the hood comes up plenty far enough to get your hand in between the bottom of the grille shell and the top of the bumper to pull the T-handle.

If that area is too tight with the hood popped, then an adjustment of the bumper is needed IMHO.
