what does this do to the motor? does it help with accel? horsepower? air/fuel mix?

i'm seriously thinking of doing this to my 1993 5.2L and would like to find out what it actually does.

sorry for not searching first, its almost midnight and i have to be up and to work for 6:30 in the morning.

The sensor is mounted in the intake manifold from the factory, (you knew that) during normal engine operation the intake can become extremely hot especially during stop and go driving heat soaking the sensor. That can make the computer "think" the incoming air is hotter than it really is. By moving it to the air intake it senses the actual incoming air.
I think i made more of a drive-ability difference with mine. Before it seemed sluggish/no power.

I had relocted mine at one point, and didn't notice any difference at all other than what the temperature it was reading on the scan tool at work when I swapped it. However if you relocate it into an M-1 manifold, then you see a difference :woot:

I'm not sure if you would see any gains from doing this on a stock engine. On my 3.7 the sensor is part of the air intake and right before the TB. When I made my own intake I just put it back in that location.
