so my rango 5.9 is throwing p0420 and p1740 codes. after reading into the 1740 im not happy that i might have to replace the tranny but it shifts perfectly smooth and fine. better than my current 3.9l dak with 117k on the damn thing. idk how long they've been on i just got it and they were on when i got it. but if its not showing any signs of wear and tear on the tranny is it really that serious? another question with the 2000 durango 5.9l slt 4x4 with a 46RE are those tranny's cooled or no? i know my dak is but i haven't gotten a chance to look at the durango yet.

what exactly does the p1740 mean? i really dont feel like researching it... but i know the p0420 is cat inefficiency code lol and will need to be replaced.

idc about the cat im in florida we dont do inspections lol i've got plenty of time for that crap. the p1740 is "torque control circuit. Explanation: The ECM has detected a communication problem with the TCM torque control circuit. Probably cause: Open or short circuit condition, Follow diagnostic procedure in appropriate repair resource"
