Hi there.
Truck in question is 2000 Dakota, V6 2WD, with about 55K miles on it. It's my GF's truck, and it was her dad's before he died. It doesn't get driven much, and despite the low mileage, stuff dies on it from old age now and then. I just finished replacing all the up front hard brake lines (front left & right and the two lines that go up from the brass blocks). Which was about as fun as you think it was, with all the rust. I still have to replace the front brake flex lines.
Normally I an accustomed to working on small front wheel drive cars, so the differences in doing a truck is a learning experience. I did not have to jack up the car at all while doing this. In fact, I am not sire exactly where the front jack point is. That and it would be nice to be able to remove the battery tray. Getting the battery out is easy enough, but the tray seems to be on top of either a fuse box or PCM, or something that needs to be removed first, or something. Another interesting thing I noticed was that it had the standard mechanical clutch / fan arrangement next to the radiator, just like on a rear wheel drive car, but also has an electric fan as well. I would expect one or the other, but not both.
Just found the link to the FSM and plan on making good usage of that.
