I have a 1998 Dodge Durango that I go off roading with a lot. It's got the stock suspension with a 3" body lift kit. The suspension has been fine except I keep blowing the shocks out that my local mechanic puts in and want to put something in that will last longer. I like to do a lot of fast driving on dirt roads that have lots of bumps and potholes, and it's also my daily driver.

What might you all suggest I invest in as a better shock? I'd prefer a shock that I don't need to make any special adjustments when I want to go off road, and I'd prefer it's a direct fit shock.

Thanks!

you could just run it with no shocks, it kinda sounds like you like a rough ride :banana2:

I used to have Monroe Reflex shocks on my 2002 Silverado a while back. They handled great on the street and equally well in the dirt.

Or you could go with Bilsteins, which are also a great shock, but ive never personally had them.

I'm currently running the Monroe Sensa-Trac shock. I called Monroe and they suggested I get the reflex shock. As of right now I've been suggested the ProComp ES9000 and Bilstein 5100 as well.

Can anyone say if any one of those three is better? The price difference between the three is negligible.

It has also come to my attention that there is a special on the Rancho RS9000XL adjustable shocks where if you buy all four you can get the myRide for free. It's $100 per shock, but that seems like a pretty sweet deal.
