I have the flowmaster 40 with the stock exhaust. I just took the old muffler out and clamped a new one in place. I plan on redoing the whole exhaust next summer so this ws just temporary. At start up the truck sounds just like a V8. If you really want it to sound like slow97's on cold start up pump the gaspedal a few times before firing it. When it starts it'll sit there and lope for a minute like it's got a nice came in it. Till it burns the fuel out.hehehe The muffler sounds good up till about 2700-3000 rpm's. It's got a nice sweet spot in there. Above that it starts getting raspy and the vehicle resonance goes crazy. This muffler is also loud. I did notice a performance increase though in the bottom end. It took about 150 miles for the computer to adapt. Maybe not more hp just moved it around. I put a V8 tb on though and lost what I had gained. I move it back up even higher in the powerband. If the cops are pricks around you yu might want to think twice about the flowmaster. It's loud. That's a big reason why mine is going.
