To date the 4.7L has 4 intake manifolds available.

  1. 1999-2001 INTAKE MANIFOLD - WORST DESIGN... REPLACE ASAP!
  2. 2002 INTAKE MANIFOLD - IMPROVEMENT OVER 1999-2001 INTAKE MANIFOLDS
  3. 2002 H/O INTAKE MANIFOLD - Once considered the best factory intake (No longer available)
  4. 2003 INTAKE MANIFOLD - Improvement over the 2002 INTAKE MANIFOLD and comparable to the 2002 H/O INTAKE MANIFOLD
  5. 2008 INTAKE MANIFOLD - HANDS DOWN THE BEST DESIGN! Current 2008 4.7L makes over 300HP!

Up till today the 2008 INTAKE MANIFOLD could not be used on the older 4.7L engines because its uses a PCM controlled throttle body with a 4 bolt pattern throttle body and you could not mount your cable throttle body to it... until now.

We now have CNC'ed bullet adapters available to allow you to mount your 1999-2007 cable throttle body to the 2008+ Intake manifold. This will allow for a PLUG & PLAY set up and come with the needed Throttle body Cable bracket and all hardware needed to install. These high quality CNC'ed machined adapters make use of rubber seals for a reusable sealing surface.

This intake is the best FACTORY intake ever made... the new 4.7L is making over 300HP with this INTAKE MANIFOLD!

Do you know how much more HP/TQ the 2008 intake makes over the 2002 H/O Intake manifold ?

there are other things different between the 08 4.7s and the rest, right? quoting that the new 08 4.7s do over 300hp is useless info at this point. we have no benchmark. from your personal observations, what is different between the ho IMs and the 08 IMs?

Well although Im not suggesting adding this intake will instantly gain you 300HP I am suggesting its currently the only one that supports over 300HP.

Just by looking at it compaired to the other intakes, its clearly a better built intake... I dont need to run it to ditermin that, anyone with some experience can tell you its a better design... but how much better is the hard part to predict.

This intake has been rumored to be the best intake to have long before its release... This is from a chrysler Dyno Tech who literally tested them on the 4.7L engines... So I have no doubt its the best FACTORY intake hands down.

Time will only tell exactly what gains will be had... but rest assured, if your adding allot of mods and want the edge... this intake will be a great addition to your project.

it's $575 if you buy the intake manifold and adapter plate together.

$290 for that? There can't be more than 1.5hr of machining on that. Could be way less time if you were doing a bunch and made fixturing, but that's likely not the case. Figure $80 an hour shop time and you got $120 machining cost. Sure as shit isn't $170 in material there.

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea but you won't see me paying $290 for that.

In order to make this work and allow you to mount your pre 2008 throttle body to the 2008 intake we had to have two adapters made. It was not possible to do this with just one adapter. We also have them grooved to allow for a the stock rubber seal and a rubber o-ring between the two parts. Allot of R&D went into them... This is not "JUST AN ADAPTER" there was more to it then that.

As for the cost of running the 2008 intake on your 1999-2007 4.7L... People spend over 300 bucks on just an induction system that offers less of a gain with out increasing the total potential.

Now if you guys would like to get a GP together we may be able to do so something... But one at a time the price would have to be about where its at.

Also this is all with free shipping, something many people seem to forget. That's 35-45 bucks off the top right there alone that we have to cover to get it to your door.

So If we charged 530.00 + shipping it would look better on paper but in the end you would pay the same price.

If you look at everything we offer on our site its clear we do everything we can to bring you the best parts for less. If we can cut prices we do. So its not like we are jacking the price up to make a huge profit... but we do need to make something.

If this is too expensive for you, then perhaps this mod is not for you.

I too would be interested in its performance. I understand what he's saying that the newest version is supporting 300 hp, but what is the hp limit of the H.O, or 03 design? Maybe a hp level where the money spent on this is a good idea. I'm guessing its arrival and your being out of the country makes it difficult to test, or where preliminary testing done a while ago?

The heads are different but I'm fairly sure the bolt pattern is the same. I hope to bolt a set up and take a look at them shortly after I return from Iraq. The Cams are different, as the 2008 cams are the same part number for either side where as the pre-2008 cams have 2 different part numbers for Left/Right side. This leads me to believe the cam sprockets are different. The question would be, Will the 2008 cam sprockets line up with the older chains or will a new 2008 timing set be needed? It could be a domino effect... again time will tell and we plan to have answers in the near future.

I'm guessing the blocks are the same... I'm not sure if they have improved upon the 3 the dowels that locate the bed plate or not... Under factory power they are fine but there have been reports that under heavy loads 450+ with stock bolts the bed plate has been blamed for shifting. Of course a set of ARP studs would go a long way in preventing this anomaly but it would be nice to see if they addressed it.

The new heads are dual plug heads, do the plugs fire sequentially? That could make the swap a little simpler in that area also. A guy on another forum and I talked extensively about swapping the whole assembly, not just the heads. Questions arose about the tone ring, and the aformentioned firing of the spark plugs. Obviously the TB was something we didn't take into consideration.

Shit, I'd do it. I would get mine dyno'd the way it sits now with just an intake to see what numbers I'm putting down. Then I would install this and dyno it again. I might start saving up now......:D

Here are a few more pictures of the 2008-2009 4.7L Intake Manifold mounted to an old school (1999-2007) 4.7L engine... Pictures shown with complete kit to include the two piece adapter and throttle body bracket. As you can see this is a high quality, clean set up.

If there are any questions please feel free to contact me.

Well don't hold your breath guys... I will not even be around to test it anytime soon. Im sure there will be a couple of guys who will jump on this intake... but I cant say how long it would be before they posted their gains... Either way, this is now yet ANOTHER performance option AIR RAM has brought to the 4.7L community.
