I replaced my brake Rotors and pads about 35000 miles ago with Powerslots/hawk pads. I did an inspection yesterday and noticed there is lots of pad left but not much rotor. Shouldn't the pads wear out quicker then the rotor?

That's very expensive to keep replacing rotors each time instead of pads.
Anyone else have the same problem?

With 35k, the rotors shouldn't be near the minimal measurments. The pads should definately go before the rotors....

Where/what brand of rotors might be the problem. There's lots of aftermarket brakes that simply just don't hold up. Where did you buy them?

That's what I thought. I got them from Truckperformance.com about two years ago. They are powerslot rotors and hawk pads.

Can I keep the hawks pads as is and have my old rotors machined?

You might be better off buying new rotors, factory or aftermarket.By the time you pay to get your old ones cut (if you even can) ,new ones can't be much more.
I took my original Rotors(Dodge) to the local shop and had them machined for $30.00. I will reuse the hawk pads, there's lots of material left. We'll see how that goes.

Did you break them in properly? I had quite a few miles with the same setup on my Jeep and they had tons of life left. They have a very specific break in procedure.
