Any self help guides to replacing this steering shaft on an 1997 4x4 dakota. It looks pretty strait forward but it seems I always run into a snag my first attempt at these things.

The shaft isn't too hard to replace. I just had to do one on my '97 4x4 last year. The u-joint was sloppy and slapping around.
Getting the bolt off from the steering column is kind of a pain in the ass, but it's not terrible.
When you get the bolt loose from the steering box, you're going to have to pry the shaft loose from the splined shaft.

I was amazed at how much better the steering was after I replaced that fucked up shaft.
