why can i not find any exhaust parts aftermarket for the 2.5 anyone runnin custom exhaust looking for ideas here help please

There were not a lot of the 2.5 liter daks made, most likely the reason you are not finding anything.

I believe the 2.5 liter that Jeep used was the same. Pacesetter makes two headers for that motor. A muffler of proper inlet/outlet diameter could be used. And the cat could be replaced by something universal or ditched all together.

Although, its hard enough to get a good sound out of a sixer, never mind a four banger.

:sorry: , not much of a help other than that.

2.5 L Exhaust

Just thought I'd let you know what I'm going to do in the near future. Going to buy a Banks Header run 2.5" in exhaust pipe thru an after market cat and 2.5" inlet to 3" out let. Running the exhaust a little larger so I can Supercharge it at a later date with a Vortech Supercharger around $2100 just for the charger I will still have to make all mounting brackets and intake piping.
Header is around $350.00
High flow cat any where from $50 to $200
Mufflers will depend on manufacture
This has become an obsession to find horse power and torque out of the 2.5. :banana2:
PM me if you have any other questions.

why such a big ehaust for such a little motor? i would do no bigger than 2" all the way through. too big of an exhaust, and you will kill the tq

What TQ? :jester:

The engine doesn't make decent power (for what it is) until 3000 RPM. It redlines 2600RPM later...

Agreed...

Why not a turbo?...check out the turbo minivan sites. Should be plenty of info on how to make the 4 banger a real sleeper.

Drop in a 4BT CTD. Has more power and much more potential. Or you can always drop in a 318 or 390 stroker.

You do realized that the 2.5 exhaust is all ready 2.25 ID. A quater inch more with forced induction will more than compensate for the increase.
