I Wanted My Own Dakota Thread (Little Blue Guy Progress)

I would like to introduce all of you to "Little Blue Guy"

He is a 1994 Dakota Sport with 3.9l, 5spd short bed P/U. I bought this for $150 from shop where I work, previous owner did not want to pay to have fuel pump replaced.....truck did not run.

Items changed or added since we got Little Blue Guy:

Complete factory air conditioning from a '93 Dakota I parted out
Power steering cooler and 22 gallon gas tank from same parts truck (took out the stock 15 gallon gas tank)
Lund front grille inserts from eBay
Woodgrain dash
Stainless dash face from eBay
Stock AM-FM CD player from member here...(still did not get the other one I ordered from one other member who refuses to send after I paid)
8-ball shift knob & aftermarket fog lights.
Magnaflow muffler for a little more deeper sound
Also added inside rear view mirror with courtesy lights under it (got mirror from '88 Olds Cutlass we sent to wrecking yard)

Bedliner & tool box were already on truck when we got it.

Some pics below......enjoy

I would like to put these wheels on him....what do ya think? I found this picture on ebay....the wheels I have on the truck now are almost the same, but not chrome. I would like to find a set at an affordable price....were the chrome ones available on the Dakota's?

Also, note the painted slots on the outside....mine are not painted

Nice truck! I believe that blue is still one of the best colors Dodge used.

I see the bumper and mirrors changed color already!

How many miles on the guy? Any pics under the hood?

Good luck with it!

Here is a thread I posted in the "photoshop forum" with some pics of the other cars we got....no all of them though.

http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49539

Front bumper & mirrors have not been painted yet....I had a member in my other forum change them for me to see what it looked like all painted the same color...it's on my "to do list" this summer. Odometer just turned over 132,000 miles.....no real major work done except the timing chain & fuel pump.

I'll post a closer pic of grille inserts tonight...gotta find the picture I took.

I also have underhood pics...will post those also.

Below is best picture I had of the Lund front plastic grille inserts...basically it is just flat plastic with lots of little round holes in them...4 pieces total, found them on ebay for $5 + shipping...

And below is pictures of engine compartment...nothing special...stock as it can be....

Truck came into our shop for a "no start" condition...we found it was a bad fuel pump module inside the tank....he did not want to spend the money to fix it....

His loss, my gain...since we got him, we have replaced items that needed attention, timing chain, shocks, brakes, tune parts, & fuel pump assembly....new headlights, parking lights, & tail lights...all told we got around $1,000 total into him with purchase price....

I ain't complaining....it's really a good little truck....we really enjoy him...the only thing is....

GAS MILEAGE KINDA SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doesn't get much over 18 around town & 21 on the road...Our PT gets about the same...oh well.....

And pics below of the other cars that live with "Little Blue Guy"....
