Hey everyone, I need some insight from people with experience, unlike I. I have been looking into putting a grille insert on my 04 dak. I live in Southern Ontario and as anyone living here knows, vehicles driven in the winter rust. I have found a few grilles I like online and I like this one [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Dodge-Dakota-Grille-Insert-97-04/dp/B008AED2NU[/ame] for the fact it's $36+shipping, but I know you tend to get what you pay for and I'm concerned about it rusting. This one looks to be better quality for double the price [ame]http://www.andysautosport.com/dodge/1997_2004_dakota/exterior/grilles/grille_inserts/street_scene/strs00017887.html[/ame] and of course there are more expensive ones than that. If anyone knows where to get this style in Ontario or even Canada it would help also. If I get anything other than stainless steel, will it rust? Cost is also a factor for me. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I used the 'Gutter Guard' grille DIY inserts. It cost me $9.67 in parts and looks great, and did not rust up over a few winters. It's the actual gutter guard screens sold at Home Depot & Lowes. Google 'Homemade Mesh (gutter guard) Grill DIY', and you'll be amazed how good it looks. I cut out a small section for the hood release.
