on my 98 I took off the "V6 Magnum" badges and there was a couple locator holes in the fender where the badges were, same with the hood emblem, but I wasn't too worried about that since I was planning on replacing it with the 383 magnum badges anyway.

look through your inner fenders to see if yo ucan tell if your badges have the locator holes/pins on them or not. if they do, then you'll have to put something there or live with the holes.

Good luck
Pics?
yes, pics!? my Dakota has holes in the fender from the stock emblems, and no, there is no way to remove them without making holes, the holes are drilled into the metal at the factory, for a locator pin on the badge to stick though so that they are all in the same spot on every vehicle.

that's how they did it in 98 anyway. maybe on newer trucks, the badges were just stuck on with double sided trim tape, but for me...I have holes:rant:

I uh... don't Durango's have the V8 Badges? I seem to remember my mom's 00 4.7L had the V8 MAGNUM badges but the 01' 5.9L I drive doesn't.
the "V6 Magnum" and "V8 Magnum" badges I believe, were all held in with locator pins and double sided trim tape (that super sticky gooey crap)

I think when they went to the OHC motors (3.7, 4.7) they did away with the badges on the fenders...my 04 Dakota quad cab is a 4.7L and is pretty much "debadged" I think from the factory. no badges on the front fender, no "dakota" stickers on the door, just a black "Dakota SXT" on the tail gate.

it might have had "Dakota" on the doors and a previous owner removed them, but it definitly did not have the heavy plastic, 3D badges on the fenders with the locator pins.
