to reduce back pressure, you need smooth, free flowing pipes. headers and not manifolds, and an open/free flowing muffler.

on a V6, you shouldn't need massive pipes unless you put a huffer on it. I would think that a true dual 2.5" exhaust is MORE than enough for a V6. hell, probably dual 2" pipes is all you need.
 
Like it's more likely too little for that motor.
I highly doubt it. look at what came on our 360 cu in V8s stock.

he has a V6...what's the cubic inces on that thing? 260ish?

headers, high flow cat, and 2.5" pipes is more than enough for a V6.

crackle when you let off the gas does NOT indicate excessive back pressure.
and neither does an oil pressure light under any circumstances.

I'd look into that oil pressure light though...verify that it's just a sending unit issue with the light, and not an oil pump/pick-up issue that's about to fuck up your motor
