We want more..... Lol jk, congrats on the install.

Nice. Have you been able to drive to compare the HO's with the 08 camshafts?

I wonder how these stack up to 206, 212, 218 or 224 re-grinds?

I just talked to one of the local dealerships and they can have them for me tomorrow if I wanted. It will be 817 after tax and without having the core. It will be 617 with the core and another 10% off for my military discount. So if I can get the cores I can get a brand new set for around 550 after tax. But I'm trying to decide if I should send my HO's out for a re grind or sell them and buy the 08 cams, the bad part is they were brand new when I installed them 2 months ago. Next I wonder if the 08 springs will work on the 07 heads. Decisions decisions.....

I do know in 05 or 06 they started using the ho spring part number in the 4.7 and did away with the standard springs. I called the dealership when I installed these and they told me my truck came from the factory with the same springs as the HO.

Just called a local dealership for the cams. $236 for the driver side and $322 for the pass side. 1-2 days for the driver and a week for the pass.
Here are the part #'s
Driver: 53021983AB
Pass: 53021984AB

I asked about the cores and he said they wouldn't be able to tell the difference if I turned in my 2004 cams.
Really!!! If that's the case I will give them my stock cams for the core. I thought about that but didn't want to ask just in case. Thanks man you just saved me some money.

Although I won't bring them in for at least a few days after I buy them.

Yea i was just looking at my 07 and 08 parts manuals and seen that they do look different. So either stick with my stock 07 springs or go with the beehive springs.

I have one I can measure for you if you need the dimensions.

Got my 08 camshafts ordered, they should be here next week!!! Thanks moparman_2004 for being the guinea pig on this and verifying that they actually work.

Not sure if you already mentioned this, but did your original sprockets fit on the camshaft or did you have to use the 08 sprockets?

Yea I may just keep the stock cams. Since I bought them online I'm afraid they will know they aren't 08 cans and do whatever with them. Then I'm out shipping and my stock cams.

I've been searching for the service manual for a long time now but all I can find is the parts and owners manual.

Only bad thing is if they don't take them your out $200+shipping and I have the springs I'll look at
That's my concern bc when I talked to them on the phone he said make sure you put the correct side in it's correct package. If they have them in stock like they do then there's a chance they may pull a set to compare, and make sure you didn't send 2 of the same side camshafts or the wrong ones completely. Then again they may not even check.

As far as I know 08-?? is the same.

I am determined this weekend to find a pdf version of the new 4.7 service manual.

Would be cool if someone had an 08 service manual because it should show the cam specs like it does in my 01 manual.
I was able to download the 08 service manual but its over 10k pages bc it has 1500, 2500, 3500 SRT10, all gas engines, 5.9 and the 6.7. Where is a good place to start looking in the 1500 gas section for camshaft specs?

I've checked the 08 and 09 service manuals and nothing has changed in the specs. Some pictures changed but nothing in the valve train. I think we need to look for a 2010+ manual.

I have to go to mine on Monday to return a brake caliper core. Maybe I can ask them to print it out for me.
