Anyone make a billet aluminum waterneck for the magnum style thermostats?
I just emailed John about the t-stat housings and he says he still has them for $89 each. His shop is just down the fwy from me. I'm gonna get me one soon. He also has a dyno and for $85, you get three pulls that include air/fuel readings. I'm all over that like a bum on a ham sandwich!I have one. I got mine from John Horton out of Murrieta, CA. He owns West Coast Viper and oddly enough he made a batch back in '03/'04 of these. I don't know if he has any left but you can try him... 951-677-4546.
Here ya go. I just picked it up at John's shop for $90 out the door. Pricey some would say. But at least I'm the first one on the block. TEE-HEE! I just sent it out for powdercoating. FYI, this is a direct bolt on as you can see compared to the stock neck. However, you'll need bolts approx 1/2" longer than stock. It's even canted (tilted) like the stock one. So take note when bolting it down. I don't know if John will do a group buy or not. I didn't ask. If someone wants to try for one, go for it.Anyone make a billet aluminum waterneck for the magnum style thermostats?
Glad to hear John still has some more. I love mine, it's never leaked and it's quite a nice piece. For something custom the price really isn't that awful, but some will feel differently. Here ya go. Thanks for the heads up on where to get it. He's just 20 miles from my house. Besides, I drooled all over myself with the Vipers that were parked in the lot.Glad to hear John still has some more.
Just curious, why did you buy it if you plan to have it powdercoated? Wouldnet a stock one be just as good if you plan to powdercoat it?Here ya go. One piece.is the round part welded to the flat base or is it one peice?
The steel stock is just this walled steel. Very susceptible to rusting easily. Not only that, it's just plain flimsy compared to the billet piece. I show my truck at shows and want an edge on the other guy.Just curious, why did you buy it if you plan to have it powdercoated? Wouldnet a stock one be just as good if you plan to powdercoat it?
I'm got the last one yesterday. With regard to the min 10 order, that's what he told me too.Just called John and he sold the last one yesterday. I guess thats what I get for not checking this board for a few weeks. ha If we can get a min order of 10 together he will produce another batch.
