I'm sorry, but i am not at liberty to say, hope you understand
little obvious he was over the .8 limit. question that remains and probably will never get answered is how much more OVER he was. damn shame, as i said, thank your lucky stars you werent killed man. hope you re-coupe from this with a whole new found respect about things like this. for some it may take more, but i hope it dont in your case. i know i have (many years ago). never hit anyone or anything though, i just started to see where i was headed in doing it. never drove home THAT drunk i dont think. hell, times i was drunk, i pulled over, took a nap, then when i felt better, then i went home.

Now this saddens me. You had one of my three favorite trucks on this site.
This right here is one of the big reasons I rarely ever drink. Glad you're alright bro. Sorry to see you in this spot. :sorry:

I tried to bite my tonque but I can't.

I'm glad you didn't hurt anyone. IMO you don't deserve to be behind the wheel of anything, ever again. No insurance, no seat belt, and drunk. I hope you grow up real quick, and get what is comming to you from the law.

This isn't a flame thread. It's a 70% "I'm sorry about what happened"/30% "You got what was coming to you" thread.

Saying he doesn't deserve sympathy for drinking and driving, driving with no insurance, and driving with no seatbelt isn't flaming. It's saying he needs to accept the consequences of his actions. This reminds me of the people who say, "I got pulled over today; all cops are assholes," and then they tell you they were speeding!

Now let me clarify what I am feeling.
-I am sorry for the truck.
-I am happy that Pixer is okay.
-I am happy that no one else was harmed in the accident.
-Pixer is one lucky son of a bitch. What's worse, losing your car to an accident that you caused, or harming or killing someone?

I respect Pixer for coming forward to what happened. Like I said in my previous post, I will never drink and drive after seeing the pictures of the wreck.
im not looking at the percentage, i am just looking at the thread as a whole.

and for those that say not drinking and driving is easy....sure its easy to say....WHEN YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT STATE OF MIND

i knew a guy that finally ended up killing himself...(drunk driving) after about 10 years of doing it and somehow managed to never hurt anyone else and still even got caught at least 4 times and was never kept in jail....he almost killed my sister in law and their 3 kids.

the importance of this thread is that he was drinking and driving...that is what would endanger others......the no seat belt and no insurance will only hurt himself...and trust me...i am very strict on my family and friends on those topics

and josh...i have alot of respect for you....but why in the hell does it matter so much what the breathalyser reading was? it is apparent that it was past the limit. what more is there to it?

Hey Pixer...glad that nobody got hurt....sorry about the truck, was a nice lookin piece. I really hope you learned your lesson...I'm thinkin ya did. I'm also thinking that this thread is your way of learning from, and copeing with your ordeal rather than mourn the loss of a truck.

...but, I think that anyone criticizing you by wishing ANY type of BODILY HARM upon you IS WRONG, NARROW MINDED, RIDICULOUS and AND FLAT OUT DISGUSTING!!! WTF!!!

I have lost friends due to drinking and driving, and its a shitty situation for anyone to experience...but we are human and we all make mistakes...factor in drinking which results in impaired judgment and worse mistakes are more prone to happen...especially while driving, but wishing injury to some one is not the answer.

I'm sure that by the minor injuries you sustained and the sheer damage done to your truck is more than enough for you to realize what a mistake it was to drink and drive.

Be glad it was only you and your truck involved...and thank god that the truck was able to do what it was designed to do by keeping you safe and letting you walk away from what looks like a really terrible accident. I feel safer in my 2003 Dakota SXT knowing that and seeing those pictures...

Like was said earlier, trucks and cars can be replaced...but a life...well, i don't think I have to say it...

I wish ya well and hope ya learned an invaluable lesson.

I didn't learn my lesson when I got my DUI
You know, as I was reading the thread I was planning on saying something like, "Glad you weren't hurt too bad, hope you learn from your mistake".

But then I saw this line. Dude, ya gotta wake up before you kill someone. You had a chance to learn from your mistake the first time you were caught, and obviously that didn't work. You can lose your truck, you can get fines/jail time, but the only thing that's going to make a difference is you actually making the choice to change. I've made some pretty stupid choices in my life, and luckily lived through them, that's when I finally woke up and made some changes. You've gotten lucky twice now, hopefully it's enough to get you to wake up before your luck runs out.

Got to say i pretty much agree with everything you just said, the fact that he's already had a DUI so obviously he didn't learn the 1st time, hope he will now but you have to wonder.
As far as people getting bent out of shape over what "New (Damn can't remember what her screen name is)" she wasn't wishing for the guy to get killed or paralyzed, your over reacting, and to an extent I agree with her. he obviously didn't learn from the 1st experience, if he doesn't learn from this one (hopefully he will) then maybe what it will take is to get a little banged up. After all, he wasn't too concerned about injuring anyone else when he stumbled into his truck. And to top it off, he didn't even have insurance if he did hit someone. Grow up and get your priorities straight, insurance takes priority over truck parts and christmas presents.

Thanks man, I knew and expected to get flamed, I more than diserve it.
But its a forumn......... I could have very easily lied and said a deer ran out.this is what happened ya know.

I really need to do some growing up. Once I get pics up of how the pole traved the distance of the truck bed and right up to the cab (right behind the drivers seat) then everyone will join in my amazement how I am virtually uninjured.

(not to mention the fact of a full tank of gas being dumped on the road and me killing the engine right away since I saw sparks.
im not gonna jump on the bashing,i for one have driven when i shouldnt have but do know how stupid i was and would never even think of doing it again. we all make mistakes. be glad just the truck got totaled. if you decide things might be able to get rebuilt a guy here is selling a bed. http://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/pts/523494917.html
if you willing to go down to 1000.00 for the 20's let me know, i might be able to swing that. live and learn, we all do.

I am going to agree with dakotabluert98. Everyone makes mistakes in life, that cant be avoided. Lesson learned. Never do that again no matter how fine you might feel, call a cab. Its a lot cheaper than a new car.

I agree to a "certain extent"

and i hope no body takes this the wrong way as I'm not trying to be hurtful in anyway...

Here's the thing...what he did was careless and irresponsible, no doubt about it...we all know the dude screw'd up... He even acknowledged the fact that he's gotta change and I'm sure he feels like shit about what he has done...the guy did get banged up, his truck is now a totaled pile of crap, I'm sure there are legal matters that he's gotta deal with now due to the Drinking and driving and lack of insurance and massive amounts of money he's gonna have to dole out in lawyer expenses...what would the guy getting injured do for him that all this stuff compounded would not? Saying that getting injured to any "certain extent" is just ridiculous in my opinion...as well as adding insult to injury...I don't care who you are, No one should be saying stuff like that about anyone on this site! We are all here for the same reasons.

you bought my 5.9 R/T decal! you want your money back? well too bad.
wow dont be such a fucking jackass... im guessing he didnt ask for his money back so dont bring that kind of shit up. you basically just came on this thread and posted this to stir the pot. your a fucking asshat.

im really glad your ok pixer... bad decision and i know that you know this. i know how it feels to total a truck, post up, and have everyone flame you for something you could have done differently. i know how it feels when your sitting at home cuz you can drive anywhere and your just thiniking "wow if i did this differently this wouldnt have happened." its in the future. move on. i see it as being like a girlfriend you really really liked and then you break up. im still not over wrecking my first dak and that was last november. good luck to you pixer... your gonna need it

There's more to it because he lied and is now trying to avoid the issue. Over on DakotaUSA y2kota asked him:

Did the cops write you up as DUI? Your lucky your still with us!
His reply was:

no, passed the tests, wet roads
So, if he passed all the tests then he wouldn't mind telling us what his BAC was, right? Mind you he was "pretty tipsy", but passed all the tests. So I ask him:

Pixer, you never did tell me how much you blew on a breathalyzer.
His response was:

I'm sorry, but i am not at liberty to say, hope you understand
So I say:

By saying that you're admitting you blew over the limit.
His response was:

You can think what you want, but in truth it means exactly what i said.
Why can't he say? If he was legal and under the limit then he's fine and should have no shame in admitting what his BAC was.

All he has to say is that he blew over the limit but doesn't feel let telling us how much over the limit he was.

Some of you may think that I'm being an ass, but I've had too many drunks in my family not learn from their mistakes. Not to mention three teenagers were just killed a block away from my house when the driver of them turned in front of a semi.
