Well, It seems more and more people are building 408's... Maybe we should start a club (there is a club for everything else :jester:)..

Seriously, who all has a 408 built (or in progress)? If it's finished, how much power are you puttin out? Details :twothumb:

I've got a weak start on my 408 but I hope to have it finished before the end of the year.

Would the lowly 390 be allowed in this club? Maybe call it the stroker club instead, since there's also a 426. On second thought, that sounds a little suggestive :jerkit: :jester:, so maybe not.
Might get some ford owners in the club by mistake...they love strokin... :jester:

Yeah plus they have there on 408 stroker motor too. I ll be in the club in I guess 2 yrs.

mines slowly coming together. gotta get my main studs and caps line honed, then i can start putting it together and order more parts. hoping to have it done and in the truck by october....doubt it'll happen though....long way off still. good luck on yours, a gen 2 should be sick with a 408, being a lighter truck. i might go ahead and get my rear end changed out, i know the 8.25 wont handle it for long.....plus i wanna see what the 3.9 will be like with 3.92's. then get the motor together, save up more money, then get a martin saine built tranny with manual valvebody and throw it all in.

"fleamarket" 408 here,on the bottle and some more tuning/parts going on it as we speak should be back out on the road in two or three weeks.Made 417/415 to the wheels on old set-up on motor.New et's and dyno slips to come.

What new tunning/parts are you putting on? Are you switching over to a standalone?

Im starting my blown 426 this summer, should have it done sometime next year seeing how I can only work during the summer since im still in school, but im trying to get a megasquirt installed and running within a month or two.

fleamarket? Ew! :jester:

Another vote for the stroker club... 390 style... Although I do have a Grand Cherokee I may be the red-headed step child here!!!!!!

I have all my parts except for a set of eagle rods I bought on ebay "buy it now" and it turns out they are back ordered.........
Eagle cast 4.00" crank
Eagle sir rods
KB forged pistons
Comp Cams 210/220 .513 cam
M1 plus fastman 53mm TB
Thorley headers for GC
Ported 2.02 iron ram heads (I may sell and get edelbrock's)
1.6 roller rockers
MSD 6AL

It should be pretty easy to get at least 1hp per cubic inch with the above mods so 400+ hp at the crank should be do-able. I should be able to get my
3.92 rear equipped GC into the high 12's. Not bad for a lil ole 318!! TBF

LOL I started building my 390 to be different last year, but hell, now it seams the 390s are beginning to be commonplace, sigh. Guess i'll have to go back to my old 349 to be different. either that or make a shitload more HP than all the other 390's.
