hey guys youve been very helpful in the past so hope someone can help me here ok on my 2000 d with the 5.9 it misses real bad sometimes when started then smothes out on its on after a while or as soon as u jus give it a little gas it threw an engine light once but didnt stay long enough to show the problem the plugs are a year old wires are new and so are the cap and rotor and if u guys think its the plugs which ones should i run in it it has the oe plugs now i was told to only run them in it i tryed bosch and it kept the cel on with them :cussing:

Holy punctuation man!!! Sure all the plugs are gapped correctly? I've never heard of a plug throwing a code. If it did throw one, did you scan the computer to pull up what code? That may point you to a specific cylinder that is having a problem. Thats where I would start.

a plug can throw a code that will indicate a misfire, not actually tellin you what the problem is, and you wont be able to get a code if the check engine light doesnt stay on, i had sorta the same problem when i first got my D, turned out to be the dist. cap, but you said you have new stuff there. i guess id just check out the cap and plugs and all, and as ray said, make sure the plugs are gapped correctly.

Once a code is thrown it should stay stored in the computer until it is erased, regardless of whether the light stays on or not.

sounds just like what i just dealt with. Go to a advance auto or auto zone have them read the code( storted for like fourty starts even if it's not on at the time or the scan) if ur cap, rotor, plugs and wire are all new i would get the code and and check that injector. and go from there
