I just picked up some stocker 16x8 split spokes and I want to wrap them with Nitto Terra Grapplers. I'm going for appearance more than performance. They are gonna go on a 99 2WD dak. Am I going to have trouble with the 265/70/R16's?? if it's just a matter of rubbing some plastic on the occasional offroad/speed bump, I can live with that. But if it's every time i turn full crank, then that's a problem. Do they make any tires in a 70 profile or just the 75? Also, is the 265/75/R16 considered a 31" or a 32"?

Thanks

The 265-75-16 is 31.54 inches in height, They might be a bit of a squeeze to fit under a stock Height 4x2........

These are about a .50 - .75 inch Taller than the Stock size 4x4 265-70-17...

a 3" BL or Suspension Lift would probably get you the needed Room and additional ground clearance to run these....

just something to think about...

my .02 cents worth for all it's worth...

stock tire size of 265/70/17??? i thought stock on the 4x4 was 16" dia. basically, the perfect answer would come from a 4x2 guy driving a dak sport that is running nitto 265/75/16 on the stock 16x8's. but that's in a perfect world. if people could ask people for me and get back to me, it would be much appreciated.

thanks guys

That's the size I have on mine...17"..... sorry

the 265-75-16 are taller than the 265-70-16 that comes stock, by about .50 - .75 inch..... I accidentally put 17 instead of 16

I've seen these installed on a 4x4, but I seriously doubt your gonna squeeze them under a 4x2..........

I tested fitted a 275-60-17 on my stock height 4x2 which is 30" and they just clear........

:(

well, that's..........depressing, but helpful.

thanks for the insight........any advice on a similar looking tire that comes in a lower profile? I really like the 265 width, but am looking for something more like 265/70 or 265/65/16.

thanks! :jester:

........

well f'ing A. rain on my parade why don't ya? :jester:

i will take any suggestions for a good aggressive (not mudders) looking tire, with some decent tread wear in a 265/70 profile. I already have BFG T/A KO's on my other 15" wheels, and I'm looking for something on my new stock 16's :eek:nethumb:

Did you have to mod your ride height at all? torsion bar, suspension lift, body lift, ANYTHING? cuz as of right now, I want it to work w/o any modifications. I am also debating a road tire since I will be using these primarily for spring, summer, fall driving. shoot me your opinions guys......

Stop Me If You Can!

well, i just purchased a set of Goodyear Fortera Triple Tread's in a 265/70/16. u guys see any fitment issues now that it will be a full inch shorter than the 265/75/16 Nittos I was originally thinking of? right now I got a 29" tire on there (BFG T/A KO 235/75/16)

PLEASE RESPOND FAST...........haha
my order is in!

by the way those BFG's look badass w/o flares.

wheels and tires come thursday, so when i get em mounted I will post how they fit. I got the Goodyear Fortera Triple Treads 265/70/16 which comes out to be a ~30.6" tall tire.

stay tuned for the install to answer any fitment questions anyone may have. :eek:nethumb:

decided not to chance fitment of the Nittos because I couldn't find anyone who actually did it successfully without any trimming. if you're out there, chime in!

they could be my next tire.........but dropping $700 on these will force me to hang on to em for awhile!

32's will fit most stock daks and durangos DEPENDING on what amount of backspacing you have.

I'm stuck with 31's right now with the rims i have since at full lock I have a tiny amount of rubbing on the frame, but then again I have about some of the ugliest, deepest backspaced stock dodge rims avaible (IMO)
