Well just got done installing cap, rotor, wires, msd coil and plugs. now 3 days later idle seems to have gotten a little rougher. I got 3924's and gapped them .40, with the MSD coil is that about right? should I pick up some 3923's? and what should the gap be at? I'm nearly stock with the exception of a K&N round filter. BTW I have a 1995 318 thanks.

An easy way to check for wire arc is start up the truck at night..and look for a light show. Ive found a shorter gap will idle a little better. I gap mine at .38 I belive. .4-.38 wouldnt see a difference though. I also have a MSD but also a 6A built into my BTM.

You could also check out the Intake Plenum Pan gasket. That will cause you to run a little rough at idle.

Rough Idle

I don't know if this will help you..... I 'm on my 3rd or 4th tune up pn my 96 dakota with a 239 hp v6. :drive:
I have change wires, plugs, pcv vales and what have you on it. I also run a K&N air filter on mine. My truck also has a rough idle. So I ask a friend of mine who is a machanic about it. He told me to don't worry about it.... and I don't.

Besides I like the sound of that FLOWMASTER Muffler on it at a traffic light. SWEET keep them guessing what is under the hood.

By the way.... a "" HELLO "" to WICKED R/T . Good to see you at the car show in LaPlace La !

Well picked up some autolite 3923's, gonna run some fuel injector cleaner with premium gas, then change out the IAC and see what happens. Even though after the tune up it runs a lil rougher, It seems to have a bit more power. :woot: :drive:

I dont know what you been smokin lester, but your truck does not have 239hp. Sorry bud.

While your truck is off, open the throttle plates and look inside with a flashlight. IF you see any oil or anything dirty inside that means your "belly pan" gasket is done. Which would give you the rough idle.
