Came across this on eBay tonight. Somebody in Idaho has put together (what looks like) a turnkey turbo kit for the 4.7L engine. Good starting price...

yeah...he has a nice setup....but just look at the pics...the one thing i don't like...especially since i have a lowered truck is that one of their exhaust pipes goes under the steering cross member

Agreed. Now that I looked at the photo sideways it looks bad for clearance reasons and is all that heat surrounding the R&P and its boot a good thing?

Provided the pieces install as described and the power yield is what he claims, this is a pretty cool "bolt-on" mod. It's great for people like me that don't have the time, money, or apptitude to build it myself. Oh, if I only had some disposable income...

Yah, great starting price, but a buy it now for 6500? WOW thats outragous. I agree, I have already hit that cross-member on a number of occassions (city titty) and that set-up is definatly cool, but isn't practical for my application. I'd rather build a remote turbo and yield the same gains and save 4000 bucks. Just my 2 cents.

I rather just go buy a faster sports car for 6500$. Or go put a down payment on a condo or something like that. You can pick up some decent rides for little less than that actually.

Yeah, too bad it has a salvage title.
But you could always spend $1,000 - $1,500 on a 1st gen. DSM AWD. add another $800 - $1,000 and run 11 seconds easy. but then, you can't haul anything in a DSM. All depends on what you want.
