what the hell happend here? how could something so simple end up like this? this is like the election of 2000, recount recount recount... only its a simple truck of the month thing. i mean every one of them is a good vehicle. if you all disqualify yourself, then no body wins. if wrkofrt and fastdang03 both ask to take their trucks down, then mopar318 wins by default. as much as i would like to see his truck win, and im sure he does too, no one wants to see his truck become TOM by default. wheres the pride and recognition in that? i guess what im saying is, is there some way to put wrkofrt back up with all the votes it had and act as though nothing happend. all of them have the potential to win, if not this month then another month. so lets just act as though nothing happend.

There was gonna be no recognition or Pride for me If I won.
I apologize to all of the Dak-Dur Posters especially WKOFRT and MOPAR 318 for Tainting the TOM Competition but truly felt there would be no harm since they all lurked here and all drove Mopar Trucks.
You both have real Bad Ass Trucks and dont deserve the BS

Yea, it did get ugly. And like I said before, I apologize for my part in it.

I dont think there is any way to undo what has happened as far as votes... i think it would be best if this entire vote was started over and people will just have to put in their vote one more time.

That way everyone has a fair and honest chance to win.

What a stupid mess.

Who cares who goes out and get OTHER DODGE owners to vote for them? That raises the population of the site in general. I have seen first hand posts from the DOC crowd HERE that wasn't here before this all got started. That is GOOD for Dak-D.

We are all Dodge owners and all have a chance to vote. Personally, OF COURSE I voted for Steve. He is a friend of mine AND AND AND his D rocks. It is modded in every which way you can imagine. The paint alone is flawless (from the "Dri Wash and Guard" no doubt). When I saw the halo/hidden images of the R/T under Bill's paint on the rear tailgate, that alone was it for me. I have 163000 miles on my D and consider the paint a key to how the truck is taken care of, rigged, etc.

IMO, who cares how, just win baby. No doubt Dak-D is Dak centric in quantity of participants. No doubt folks have always solicited votes. No doubt the Durango crowd got motivated (by part by a post RIGHT HERE at the Dak-D site no less: http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24716 surprise, surprise... NOT!), and no doubt it was working. THE SAME THING HAPPENS EVERYWHERE THERE IS VOTING. GROUP A GETS THEIR FOLKS TO THE POLLS TO GET THIER CANDIDATE VOTED IN. This is no different really. That is the way it works in the REAL world.

Whine is best server cold. Last time I checked, it is getting quite cold outside. Everyone should have a right to vote for whoever and however they want. It's America baby (albeit Anyone from Anywhere can vote via a web site like this... simply influencing other nations around the world. Great!)

I would have liked to see it go down to the wire and see which one really won. Like my gals say, never pull out until its over! :banana2:

Not that it matters, but the paint has been fixed for about 3 weeks now. Hope we meet up at some shows, been looking to get a local group of Durango/Dakota owners together to possibly have get togethers as well as help one another with the installs and such.

Indeed, hope to meet up too with all you guys!

You mentioned being a lurker over at the DOC. Jump on in man! Regardless of all this stuff here in this thread, it is fun there too!! We need a few more Daks there. My '99 Yellow Dak R/T buddy went along with me this summer to the Carlisle All Chrysler Nats and stayed with the Durango Club guys. A great time was had by all.

Steve, I don't think you'd have a warm and fuzzy feeling inside even if you did win TOM. Speaking for myself, if you stepped down outta this month's TOM competition you would certainly have my personal utmost respect for doing the right thing. Given your situation, and if it were me, it would certainly be worth much more than having a ride up on the homepage of some website.

By reading through the posts above, Steve has withdrawn his ToTM nomination already. That leaves mopar318 as the only truck in the running.

The site just hasn't updated it in the poll above. It is probably a software glitch and I don't think they can post a poll with one listing. That is probably why they both still show up.

The DTW forum I am in has 10 vehicles in the ToTM running which keeps this from happening if a few drop out. Just a thought. I'm sure there are enough trucks to nominate as many as needed.

As for me, I nominate this one as a stand in replacement for Steve and Bill's entries:

All three of yous guys have bad ass trucks! Mine does not even compare!! I'm envious of all of you! That's because I have the same parts that you do and they sure do look pretty on my garage floor!! :jester: Congrats to all of you for having friends who think enough of you and your rides to nominate you for TOM :beer: Now with that said, lets close out this episode and move on :biggthump
