Another update. I did a little bit of research and a few phone calls, and have decide to use the PSC1-003 Split Second module for my AFR tuning. I can easily change the signals through a laptop to accommodate my lean problem. I will probably try mounting the module inside the vehicle that way I can get at the module easier. My superchips programmer already moves my timing advanced and my spark to a negative so ill get my top end power when I get more fuel. Hopefully to get the module by wednesday, install it then, and have it done by friday to go to the drag strip. I got two more RT rims to use at the strip so all I need is a couple random 16" tires to burn at the track. I doubt I will spin much off the line cause I lost some low end power but once I get a stall converter, Ill upgrade to slicks. And then some headers. I can keep updating on this thread if you guys are still interested in how this all comes out.

You should be able to use Livelink from SCT and a laptop and datalog throught the X3 to a laptop. The X3 has that capability even though its only supported by a DCX.
That's correct "IF" SCT DCX has all of the PIDS needed to data log an NGC4 PCM. I haven't been able to check to see what PIDS are available to log yet bc I'm having issues loading a tune file.

I see you're selling your superchips. Did you get the SCT to work?

Yes I did. Long story short, Flying Ryan contacted me and I gave him my P/N number and he was able to get a base fuel map for my truck. So it is tunable from SCT. :mullet:

I now have sent back my PSC1 to get MOST of my money back. I actually had it wired in but it wouldn't connect to my laptop which is a Windows 7.

Flying Ryan also said that he can change my torque management and reduce it with a SCT X2. He also said I should go with Innovates OT-2 for datalogging purposes since the X2 cannot datalog for DCX versions. An X3 can, but my X2 cant. He HIGHLY recommended it too. So i will be inquiring in one once I get the money back from my PSC1.

Not gunna lie, this has been just one big ball of crap gathering since the swap and I even did all my research MULTIPLE times before I decide to go with it. But this just goes to show that you have to go with the people that know what the heck they are doing and have done it many times with experience. :drive:

I would also like to apologize to AIR RAM and SCT for the bad mouthing I did. I was in a very angry situation so I just started spitting stuff out that I shouldn't have. :sorry:

And yes, the superchips is for sale. I wont need it anymore. I do miss not having my reduced torque management and REV limiter removed.

Awesome glad you got it working. I think Ryan can adjust your rev limiter as well as the torque management.

Yep he sure can. I think there is a lot more he can do on mine than most.

Ok a long update for sure. The guy tuning my truck has been doing a good job, in my opinion, especially since this is the second dodge he has tuned. AFRs are amazing at WOT, timing woke it up and he also advanced the spark a bit too. Holy crap. Last night he changed the spark from stock and played around a bit with it. This truck most faster than it ever has. Still can't get off the line cause of only a 2000 stall converter, but def an improvement from a 25-30 roll.

Another purchase also happened. I bought shorty headers for 140 shipping and a Transgo shift kit for 38 dollars shipped. Talk about a steal! Lol Both are installed now as well. I will post pics later of them.

Back to the tunes, he is working on how to reduce torque management if not eliminate it and it's been a tough time figuring it out for him. We tried 7 different tunes last night and one one seem to have less torque management, but only a little. So that's where I am right now.

Next purchase is going to be an innovate OT-2 datalogger and series cable adapter since I have an innovate LC-2 wideband. Then stall converter, probably 3400.

Just disconnect the torque management signal wire. I have a write up on another site where I pulled the pin out of the TCM plug instead of cutting the wire.

I would believe so. You just need to get a pinout of the PCM to find out which one is for the TM signal. Your local dealer is usually nice enough to print it out for you if you ask. They went down to one PCM but it just incorporates them both into one unit. Thats why it has 4 plugs versues the 3 plugs on the PCM and one plug on the TCM of older versions.

Yep tried that already. There is no pin out for my 4 plug PCM. I looked at one from a 2004 and a 2001. 2001 clearly shows the wire from TCM to ECM and says torque management request. But my 04 doesn't have that pin out anywhere..

Man. I have an 04' awaiting HO can install and I have an SCT sitting in the glove box too. Waiting to install the cams then get a tune. Hope I don't have issues being that mine is 04'. I was going to contact hemifever for a tune.

Flying Ryan has had many tuners (almost triple digit customers) leave Hemifever for his tunes and not go back. Hemifever has also been known to disable long term knock and many significant engine problems.

:mullet:

I could not agree more... Let me know when your ready to tune and we can get you all "TUNED" up!

So is Ryan tuning your truck?

He is not at the moment. I have been letting another guy tune my truck who is doing it for free. He is a nephew of one of the founders of SCT. Flying Ryan knows him and im sure Ryan can do a much better tune but I just can't afford Ryans charge for tuning just yet. Only reason I know of Hemifevers problem is because a guy I know on facebook that has a Hemi Dakota sent a datalog to Flying Ryan and Flying Ryan told him all that was screwed up on the tune. I don't remember the details but disabling long term knock is NOT GOOD!!

Another update.

Been looking for other 'little' things to look into to help the cams and my 1/4 mile times. I recently bored out my stock throttle body so it is ported to 68mm and polished all the way through. Came out really nice thanks to Mr. Dremel and this YouTube link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeASlDAkmdc :mullet:

I then realized that all that will go to waste if the PVC and crankcase breathers are still hooked onto the intake.. So i ordered an eBay Oil Catch Can and mounted it next to my PCM. I took the intake off just to clean as much oil as I could out of the runners and TB side as I could and clean up right before the valves.

Also installed Flowtech Headers and a Transgo Shift Kit which I got for a KILLER deal! 180 dollars for both! :banana2:

Last but not least, I also installed a lowering shackle on the rear of the leaf spring to bring the truck down a bit. It dropped the truck about 2-3" even though it doesn't look like it moved at all!! :funny:

So thats where Im at right now. I have 2 16" rims to use for the front with 225 width tires and 2 17" RT rims with ~30" tires for the back. Im going to the drag strip on Saturday the 19th of July to see how I do. This will be the first time since I installed the cams. :woot:

I will post pics here after a bit. Stay tuned! :waiting:
