I have a 2004 dakota to start things off. My passenger side axle is going bad. I would replace it but I have so much other important things to buy for it right now since it's constantly falling apart and on top of that I have a little girl on the way. My question is, can I just take them off and ride without them. I have seen where some trucks need the end of it to hold the hub on but I just recently changed my hubs and they are bolted to the spindle. Thanks in advance for the advice.

no..the axle holds the hub bearing together...axles are not that expensive....maybe $50 - $75 each
