Ok guys,

Just thought of an interesting question...

What aftermarket brakes and/or pads are there out there for the 97-04 dakotas? I have been thinking about upgrading the brakes as they are in need of repairs anyway...I've read on some threads here about viper brakes, but that a lot of pre-fab work is needed and I am thinking just plain aftermarket bolt on that fit with stock rims...does  brembo make a set? Since mine is a 98, are there performance drum brakes out there (if there is even such a thing?!?)

Just thought I'd throw that thought out there...

(maybe this could be one of those sticky threads where people throw their .02 in about what works and what doesnt?)

Cheers

Well easy way would be some good slotted/drilled rotors and performance pads and a rear disc conversion. Also to get better braking performance with out all the fab from the viper conversion would be converting to 03 R/T brakes. They are bigger rotors and twin piston calipers, you would need the front spindles, hoses, calipers, caliper brakets.Either check ebay, the boneyards or get them new from the dealer but everything would be a bolt-on fit. Those are your choices I'm sure some others on here could chime in and give some advice.

Stillen has a set, i think they are either 2 piston or four...i wanna say four...but they gonna run you about $5K....

I dont have a link though, bump Sin City, he does if your remotely interested in them... :biggthump

they don't have to be an R/T......just about any 03-04 dakota has the rear disc and two piston caliper front...but as he said just get the whole spindle with everything attached and a rear end with the disc...but be careful with the miles on the rear...the less miles it had usually the more expensive it is :biggthump
