Hello -- Great to find forum resources like this one. My name's Andrew and I live in Ontario Canada. About 6 weeks ago I bought a 2004 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab (V6, 2WD). It came from Texas so it's the American model (gauges, dials, etc.). It has about 81,000 mi and in great condition. Immaculate underbody, which is rare in Canada due to extreme cold weather conditions and salted roads.

Never owned a Dodge before but figured it was about time! Glad to be a part of this community and hope I can contribute knowledge as I learn.

BTW I already have my first snag. If anyone has advice the thread is located here: http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3212506

cheers

No, not grandfathered. It's required by law for all vehicles made or imported after 1990. But it's not hard, a small electronic box that hooks up to the battery, start wire, and headlights. Someone installed it for me before I bought it.... but actually they might have wired it wrong because the right headlight doesn't turn on with the DRL box (but it works fine with the manual headlight switch). I just use the dash switch.
