finaly go my R/T .... well worth the wait ...... takeing her out of town on a 2 hr drive to get some work dun .... il let ya know how it duz ..... nim not worried about gas milage .... if ya got a dodge for the milage ya got the wrong truck .... :drive:

What headers did you order?

My '00 R/T is an excellent touring vehicle. I take it to Florida each spring, I almost always get 15.9mpg over ~2450 miles with a few adults and loaded with luggage. Every second year I come back up along the east coast, othertimes I go up through Nashville if my relatives in the area can manage a quick get together.

Pure city driving I'm lucky to get 11mpg as my foot is generally always into it. Snow on the ground allows me to burn more fuel at times!

Congrats!

My OEM headers are leaking, at the ripe age of 13 years old. I'm a bit putt off by the additional cost of ceramic. I don't care about how things look under the hood or if the low cost headers turn blue after a week.

The weak point is the Y pipe. I've replaced everything behind the headers a few years ago with Magnaflow parts as I lucked out on a sale. I have no complaints about the muffler as I ran the truck for nearly a full month without one (OEM exhaust pipe before the muffler rusted off, so I just pulled the muffler off). The wait time was due to shipping problems..

Headers are on my to-get list, but it's hard to make a choice with all the options. I get 9mpg in town, as it is winter after all. JBA is fairly low cost, so I might just pick up a set of those, although I'd need a day when it's not -22C to install them.

haders are on the durango now ...... just over 500 with a new y pipe. she liked it with the cat back that was on there. gets out of the hole much better witch i exspected with shortys ..... I ran gibbsons on my ram truck for a spell.thay were ok but for 700 bucks thay should have held a gasget better .... the JBA flanger are much thicker and should work better. going to up state NY on the first that will tell me if helps the milage.

o ... the part # is 1945s-1jt ..... I took the durango to up state NY from PA via SO MD made a road trip out of it ..... first tank of 92 octane went well. Got 19 MPG ... thats up 1.5 over stock manifolds at speeds of 60-70 mph ...... now the bad news. I got hooked up with a 6 car pack on the GS parkway ..... wern't a cop in site and we were boogiein at 90 plus for a long time. Run 3/4 of a tank thro the injectors. The dodge loved it .... She was in R/T heaven .... road smother and the engine was at full song just over 3200 rpm's. Turned off the tunes just to lisin to her run. Twas music. God i love the sound of a mopar..... O ya ... the bad news 12.6 MPG at that speed. well worth the 4.15 a gallon tho ....

That's decent mileage for 90mph. The 5.9L can take 2500-3500rpm all day. I ran my travel trailer (27' 5200lbs) for over 1800 miles (total trip) and managed a respectable 10.2mpg! 3rd gear was utilized for the most of the trip and I rarely went over 65mph. On the highway here (limited to 100km/h; 62mph) it's as if the engine gets pissed at me, like I'm teasing it not taking it over 2000rpm.

I run to Florida and back each year. Last few years have been a consistent 15.9mpg trip average over 2500 miles.
