This is a 1990 spool with a tighter 1996 spring cap, with a black belt from a Mustang GT, Dakota guide arm, a male buckle clip from a BMW 740i for my seats, with the BMW seat mount sewed onto the end of the belt what a pain in the ass this setup was to create with all the trial and error lol Dakota's to my knowledge did not come with black belts:

I live above a seamstress she has nice sewing machines and knows her stuff so she was able to sew the Mustang belts onto the BMW seat mounts and with a stronger stitch then from the factory too, way stronger! This will hold even the fattest fluck from flying through my windshield:

I was thinking about your center console build today. If you go 4x4 the shifter will collide with the console. Unless you come up with a really fancy shifter with a few bends. Unless you put in an electronic one with the shift dial on the dash. Not sure what that would take though.

Man after being on RaceMagnum, I love you guys lol (no ****). I made up my mind about sticking with RWD however I still want a 5-speed so the console will have to be pushed way forward, I will have to take measurements of the shift tower location in a junkyard unless someone can provide them (measure from the back wall forward).

I don't understand this still, nothing good to say so all they said was bad things then when I call people out in return they act like I want my ass kissed..NO..I wan't people to say nothing at all if they have nothing good to say like everywhere else. I wasn't looking for props from ANYONE I was simply sharing!?

And we shared our opinions......and then you got butthurt and rage quit....several times over.....

Why haven't you chimed in here and insulted me then or anyone else? Little peer pressure over there or what? I don't think it has anything to do with my work or what I said looks to me like you all need to prove something to each other...it's called drama, women create it.

actually, if you look back thru the thread i did not instigate anything..... hell i hadnt even POSTED in the thread until after your first rage quit...... congrats for not even realizing who was talking to you...:clap2::clap2: also, if you had grown a pair and gotten over the little ribbing that they did give you, you would realize theres REAL tech there....sure its mixed in with a lot of bs, but, if it werent for the guys there, my truck would have blown up back when i put the blower on it 3 yrs ago... they pointed out the flaws with my plan, and they are the reason i have a shitload of forged internals and other engine goodies sitting on the shelf soon to be assembled....the right way...

Welp I'm just going to hang this one up and call my losses, I lose. It's hard for me to shut my mouth when it comes to my truck...it's all I have left in life and it means the world to me I'm very passionate with the work I do to it.

i will say this... they appreciate the work that goes into it, they just dislike the final results... we all know how much time and effort goes into our toys... rnaz completely rebuilt a 1970 dart last summer, jake (shrek) has been building his lime green truck for 5-6 years now, moparvick has been working on his for 3 years.... we know the time that goes into it.... :mullet: they just have a bit of bad manners when it comes to saying that they dont really like what you did with the time you spent... get what i mean?

I get what you mean, totally. I just wish they could have said what they did not like rather than posting things like swinging dicks with no text, I'm REALLY curious what people don't like about it. Lay your 2 cents on me :)

first off its hard to like a gen 1.....looks like an 80s s10.....LOL second, the things you are doing with seat belts? thats not safe... if it were dont you think the manufacturers would have used a stitch like that in the first place? that belt WILL fail... the structural integrity has been lost due to the vast majority of the structure being compromised, not to mention the half hazard mix and match of parts you are doing.... the grill? thats sort of meh.... not sure they really liked the console idea much either.... they also dont like the woodgrain style dashes... (they can go fuck themselves on that one.....LOL i love my fake woodgrain)

as for the swinging dick smiley? thats just how we roll over there....LOL

The whole reason I love it is the boxy 80s look lol, like a larger classic pickup (Silverado).

According to a professional long-time seamstress compared to the factory stitching sample I brought her she said it was stronger then the factory stitch and used far more material in the stitching than they did, there is so much stitching it's practically all stitch. The seat-belt is setup exactly like it was in the BMW really not much was changed, I did not replace a factory stitch for nothing it was lost completely when changing to black belts. The factory stitch looks like they used minimal material to save costs.

See we both like completely different things, I like my truck literally for the things you dislike I don't see that as a reason to bash each other lol. Sounds like they don't like the fact I'm turning it into a luxury sports car on the inside?

I don't know if he still has them but "LittleBlueGuy" had measurements like this including pictures from his 94 Reg Cab.

Shelby Fastback!

My searching is over, I have located and purchased an original 89' Shelby fastback for $150 shipped! It was originally white but someone had painted it, I got it from the user "moparnut38" now it needs to be sanded and primed:
Image

It's just kind of resting on the bed for now, has not been anchored yet:

The top edge of the bed liner will need to be cut away for the fastback to fit flush with the roof line:
