Well I should probably find a way to fit 15 inch rims on my truck as slicks are mostly directed towards 15's. I have a 2003 with disc brakes and 16 inch rims. What year did the 15's come on or is it just a different option on my year of truck? Does it come with drum brakes or something?

Pretty much what can I do to fit 15 inch rims on my truck

Seriously?

You can't find a 16" slick or drag radial?

Most guys are busting their nuts trying to upgrade to the 2003 brakes and you want to go backwards to the sucky pre 2003 brakes?

Do yourself a favor and spend the extra effort to find something in 16".

Maybe I care more about acceleration and tire choice then braking.
I only found 1 set for 16's that would work Hoosier 18153 and they are only 28 inchs tall

the pre '03s that the 15s came on have drum brakes, but you might be able to get some custom rims made up that are a 15inch diameter and still keep your discs... i know its possible because my buddy had a big brake setup on his impreza rally car that would normally require 17 inch wheels, but he was running 15's....

Now that i thought it over I don't think switching to lower quality brakes is an option. I need all the braking power I can get while I'm building boost at the line. If anything I need better brakes not worse. I ordered some Hoosier slicks. They are 28/10.5/16 I'll see how they work if anything the gearing form the tire size should make me a bit faster

Don't you have a stock rear end?? I broke my 8-1/4 axle running drag radials with a V6... granted my truck is a stick and dumping the clutch is massive shock to the axles but still...

I'm bringing a backup vehicle next few times. How did it fail for you? Like dodo the gears shear off in the diff? I'm looking into a 9.25 swap. Still not sure if that will be enough

The gears didn't break the axle snapped about 6" outboard of the diff, you may not throw the axle out of your truck since you have disc brakes but if an axle pops your gonna have a bad day and will likely damage your brakes, brackets, caliper, rotor etc...

I was using Hoosier drag radials with a built up V6, granted it is a stick and the shock is alot more harsh but your engine sounds pretty serious in the torque department for the little 8-1/4. You shoudl be looking into an 8-3/4" rear or like a Dana 60...

Do C-clip eliminators not exist for the Mopar rear?

I haven't ever seen any. You are probably better off to cut the ends off and weld on either the Olds or big Ford ends. Then just adjust the axle journal diameter to match the given bearing diameter. On top of that, your brake options increase exponentially.
