So I have my rango in pieces still, I have a broken flexplate that does not seem to go in my truck. looks like somewhere along the way someone put a different trannsmission in my truck. I have a 1999 Rango with a 5.2, My flexplate looks like a non weighted 5.9 flexplate or a 2000 5.2 durango flexplate. Does anyone know these things well enough to help me get pointed in the right direction? I think I have found them on ebay, but used, I would rather get a new one so I don't have to do this again.

Here is what I have now.

I am worried about weights because the flexplate I pulled out of my truck does not match what should be in my truck. I am trying to identify what i actually have. Weights are on the TC, not on the flexplate.

He means, why are you worried about weights on a neutral balance engine that uses unweighted flexplate/converter/harmonic balancer?

ALL 318s from the first LA series built in the 70s, till the very last Magnum to roll off the line, are neutral/internal balance. No weights on anything external to the crank.
