This morning i threw a P0121 which means the TPS sensor voltage isnt matching up with the MAP sensor. while i was going 80 mph, not fun, felt like i was loosing my trans. My problem is that i was on the way to the airport when this happened, i managed to hobble my way there, but i dont know if it is drivable to be able to get to the dealership to pick up a new TPS. Would i hurt anything by driving it about 35 miles, or would it just be a very jumpy ride since the trans wont hold any gear now, it just jumps around like its its freaking out?

It threw the same code? Or it felt like you were about to drop your transmission, and can i drive it to the parts store with a bad tps without damagin something?

Just thought I would post here since I had the same issue. My 2002 Dakota with a 4.7L engine did the exact same thing as yours. I let it go for a couple of years because it was just annoying and it didn't have a check engine code. Well yesterday it got alot worse and the transmission started jerking when it would shift gears. It gave me code P0121 this time. I replaced the TPS for $30 from autozone and it's idling smooth as butter and the transmission is shifting like normal.

When it is idling it tends to flutter around like it has a vacuum leak, my wife said it was jerking a little as I have read that rammed1 and a couple others have experienced, I drove it sunday and didn't. Notice a thing so, I guess I will replace the TPS and see what happens, I also tried to erase the code to clear the check engine light no luck, might go off after reacement

same p0121

my durango is throwing the p0121 code. car over heat from cad melting then all hell broke lose. i changed all plugs replaced cad, replaced tps but its still giving me the same code.truck bucks until i put it into drive 3 or drive 2, revs high but no power, help me figure this bullcrap out

My 99 Durango with the 5.9 is throwing the same code and the tranny thing but mine if you rev in at a stop or a neutral rev it acts like it's going to die and drops to like 200 rpms then comes back up to normal. What is the normal idle rpms cause mine changes a lot
