Hey Nick, quick question for you. Sorry if I don't have a good understanding about this but here goes... Isn't the Centerline of a camshaft simply how it's installed or "degreed"? If so, would us 4.7 folks benefit from an adjustable camshaft sprocket so that we can set it at 111 or whatever?

I have been looking for over a year, and believe me I looked anywhere and everywhere, they where not easy to come by, believe me

they do yes, but the left side HO cams are on national back order, the rights are still available but they are useless without the other side, I have my name down on 2 sets, and I hoping that if enough people go and put there name on the order list maybe dodge will remake the cams again , that way more of us can get them easier

not really, I get cost at the dealer and my cost is $220 and $268, I can't remember what one is what price, so I"m hoping more people ask to be put on a list that way dodge goes, "huh, a lot of people want these cams, lets make them again"

I was thinking that if people find that whatever they list out for is to expensive for them, I would buy a bunch of sets and then sell then at cost, to them save some money, I think they retail over $350 but I'm not 100% positive

I apologize if this question has been asked before, but my forum searches are not finding anything:

Why can't a machine shop with the right lathe and proper metal "blanks" grind new HO cams from Chrysler's specs?

Why do we have to wait on Chrysler to sub-contract another company to do something another machine shop can do by request?

Is it just a cost factor?

make them out of wood...... bahaha cherry or hickory?

I have tried everyone and everywhere, any body or place that deals with either engines, or cams (big companies like Crane, Comp, etc) none of them have blanks, I every asked the dealer if they could put me in touch with the company that made there cams in the first place to see if I could get my hands on a set of blanks, and got nowhere with everyone, there was another guy on another forum that was trying to get something set up to make a set of billet cams at a machine shop near him but that fell through, so for now I put my name on the list at the dealer for 2 sets of HO cams in hopes that if they get enough requests for them that the company will start and reproduce the cams, I guess the problem is that there is no blanks anywhere and thats why nothing is being made, so that leaves us with having to search from one end the the planet to the other in search of cams, great grand wonderful

I'm just curious what the difference is between the stock cam profile and the HO cam profile? HO cams have 3 degrees more LSA I guess. I wonder what else is different about them?

I am stumped too and I am thinking of giving my uncle a call. He was a machinist for 53 years, so if anything, he can at least educate me a little on the science and ellusive-ness of these HO cams.

Speaking of the dealership, I am going to call in the morning and see if I can get a set on order too.

I can't believe it, but my Dodge dealer got my HO cams in today! They have been on backorder for quite a while (right-side anyway), so I was surprised to hear they were in. Going to install them soon.
