I think the VVT is making more power in the usable rpm range. The Eagle heads are better in the stock vs stock game and the block has been reinforced. The stand along is good if you have the time to program it. Mine would be a Daily driver and I would want all the mid range throttle the factory PCM has. I'm Lazy!
I THINK the 09 factory intake could be used by using a spring to operate it. Similar to the operation of the secondaries of a Thermoquad Carburator

With the wiring mess coming my way, makes me long for the days of trying to set your timing by turning the distributor and holding a timing light...
Anyone want to dial in the progressive linkage on a Six Pack?
How about reinstall the compressor set on a GE90 turbofan?
Gotta be easier then this... :funny:

I have an 09 intake in my possesion, actually 3 of them to be exact. A 09 truck, 09 LX 5.7 car, and 09 6.1 intake. The truck is the only one that has the variable intake runner in it. The car intakes lack it and obviously the 6.1 intake is just a 6.1 intake. The newer 09+ heads have larger 6.1 ports, the D-shaped exhaust ports, and larger 2.05" intake valve. The chamber is also redesigned for better quench. VVT does help in making more power, but honestly I would run without it, PTV clearance limitations when running a larger than stock cam limit you here.

So what more do you think you would have to do to get a 6.1 to work in there? Does the 4.7 pcm have a limit of "tunability" do you think? Did you upgrade your fuel system at all, or would you for a 6.1?
