I don't really want to go through the hassle with fogging oil down the intake and removing each plug to spray in the cylinder...

How long can the engine sit (in a garage) before corrosion would start to be an issue? In the summer, I usually drive it once a week or so. But wondering if a couple weeks of sitting idle in the garage during the winter without starting the engine will cause any corrosion issues.

ive never had a problem with my datsun really, it gets stored every winter i just parked it maybe 2 weeks ago, it wont come back out till prolly march at the soonest....do it every year and have been for the past 12..... no problems at all

Change your oil before you put it in storage. Maybe run some StaBil in your fuel if you're really paranoid. If you feel like being super careful, make sure your tires are sitting on wood. Then hook up a battery tender and go.

Ya, just changed oil and put the stabil. I park on foam boards to prevent flat spots, I'm just curious bout the engine though. I plan to fire it up everyso often and pull it out of the garage on a dry day to keep the moving parts moving. I'm just wondering if a few weeks stretch of inactivity will start engine corrosion.

Some of the guys that I talk to who own classic cars and store them in the winter do the following:

Fuel stabilizer
put the car on jack stands so the tires don't get flat spots.
Pull the battery out and bring into the house and stored into a battery box with a battery tender hooked up.
Some cover up the car others leave it as is.

My 2003 Dakota Sport Reg Cab has been parked for the winter. We got a dusting a week ago and everyone went salt crazy and forced me to park it. I have a 2000 dakota CC that's in rough shape which is my winter beater now.
