Goin to the paint man for it's strip tease and repaint on Wednesday..... Hope to have it back in 2 weeks........ Was going to be my 15 yr old son's first ride, but he bought a 65 B'cuda, so the Shelby will once again be my daily driver....

It's all my father's fault.... Local Chysler dealer mechanic all thru the 60's-into the 80's.....

I've had the Shelby since new in 89, was going to be my oldest son's 1st ridenext year but he decided to go classic on us. Found the 65 B'cuda (locally by accident) and talked the guy down to $400. Needs 1/4's, front seats, carpet, other minor body work, and of course everything else that goes with bringing it back to life...

A stroker for the Shelby...hmmmm...... nice thought, and I've modified everything I've ever driven, except for the Shelby. I'm simply going to leave it original - a first for me.... although I considered a 360 for a short time....

More pics in the not so distant future as I piece it back together.....

Rather than trying to quote everyone.....

Troy - His friends that have picked up Jeeps, rice burners, Broncos and even a Mercedes, are already envious that he hasgoneclassic on them. They say they never would have thought he'd go that route. Then they follow it up with "our dads can't do that kind of stuff"...lol The Shelby will remain it's original white.

98 - I purposely bought a white one when it was new. When the three local Dodge dealers had a total of 6 red and only 2 white, it was a no-brainer. Between that and the red/red combo was just too much red.... Mine is #321, which is a neat number to have, only has the leather wrap at the 9 and 3 locations of the steering wheel, and although not listed on the invoice it came thru with factory cruise control - an option I have yet to see on another one.... It is very solid. only rust is at the very bottm corner of the right front fender infront of the wheel. I was surprised at how clean the wheel lips were when I removed the factory flares. But then again, it has seen plenty of rain, but not much road salt/snow. ..... btw, I like the all black treatment on your RT.

Dave - I think a GenIII Shelby would rock. Not to mention it'd feel a helluva lot more sporty....

and back to Troy and 03sxt - My 15 yr old has the Bcuda already, but his 3.5 year old little brother has already been talking about his own truck - been telling us for a month now that it will be like my 99 Dak Ijust sold, except orange (his fav color) with white seats and a white stripe. If that's not enough to get the wife going, I'm already telling her I have to find a Duster to do in Panther Pink for our 11 month old daughter...... I'l never get my super-clone-bee done.........

yeah we live in central maryland alright. im guessing Howard county (thats ware i live) its crazy, some kids with there richy Mercedes, then the kids with the honda's, then you got the kids like me...TRUCKS! "were the ******** of the school" as were told... but i dont think that, and not one car in that parking lot stands out like my intense blue dakota! but now that i see that were pretty close to each other one day when you get the Shelby together and the barracuda id like to see them!

and for your whole family, man they must think your a pretty cool dad! haha mine is cool and all, he "TRIES" to help me work on my dak which is good bonding time but when it comes to like modification's he's never behind anything i want to do down the road. it sucks, but when im employed with a nice paying job i defiantly will be getting what i want >:) its gunna be mopar green and black r/t rims on that baby for starters!

Close enough -- I'm no more than 10 minutes from BWI on the Glen Burnie side. I'll pm ya when I get it back from the paint shop and when my son's soccer sched is done and I have some time to breathe - I dropped it off today - Should have it back next weekend.

The Shelby comes home Friday mid-day. My man called me Wed eve and said it was done and turned out beautiful. With the rain all day today and no windshield, I told him I'd be there Friday. On my way down, I'm making a detour to pick up a set of rally wheels for my oldest son's 65.... My 3 yr old was helping me get my bumpers and grill ready for tomorrow... Check out my head light...lol He's a good helper.
