Kind of spur of the moment. The boat I have been using for the past few years is an old two stroke outboard that smokes and is pretty beat up. I've been casually looking at boats for the past year in the classifieds but never really thought I would pick one up, until Friday. Blue book on this boat is about 6.5k, I got it for 3.5k, mainly because its the end of the season. We took it out wake boarding yesterday and it ran flawlessly. And the truck looks pretty good pulling it. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about it.

Damn... Nice truck, nice house, and now a nice boat. Now all's you need is a smokin hot girlfriend. Im assuming you dont have one since she isnt posing on the new boat :d :jester:

Damn that's a good buy. 3,500 for a boat aint too bad at all.

I want to get a party boat. Something slow, lots of floor space, can throw a line over the edge, and can party an drink till the weeeeeeeeeee early hours.

damn lucky guy,,,lol- nice looking truck, nice looking wife,,nice looking boat- congrats,,

Nice boat, i had one like that a few years ago. it was a crownline 18.5 ft with a 4.3 v6. what motors in that glastron? If you do allot of wakeboarding or watersports you might want to look at a 4 blade prop. i tried everything under the sun and a 4 blade 18 pitch is the best of both worlds, great getup and go to pull people and good top end. If you need a 4-blade let me know, i've got one sitting around that i could let you have cheap. Enjoy the boat!

This has the 4.3 V6 as well. Thanks for the advice. We are taking it out again this weekend, we'll see how she does.

I want a wakeboard boat so bad. I'll buy it for $4k from u!

Btw agreed about the sexy truck
I'm with all of the above, screw the boat....post more pics of the truck!

Seriously though, congrats. Looks like you'll have a lot of fun with it.

Congrats on the hole in the water into which you will throw money....lol

In 1995 I picked up a 1977 Glastron for just $1000. The guy kept it garaged. One helluva solid/well built boat. Had a 302 interceptor in it rated at 290hp. It would do 60mph without having to work hard. Sold it a few years ago and now I have a 14ft mod-v jon with a 15 on the back.... Now when I'm crabbing half a day, instead of 15 gallons of fuel, I'm burning only 3.....

Enjoy - they are tons of fun!!!

Have fun! when i got my first boat i couldn't get enough of it. Still try to get out as much as i can on the second. Whats the water temp in UT, here in NC its getting cold (by cold i mean under 70) so i can imagine its got to be colder where you are. You must be allot tougher then me, as my seasons almost over here.. :D

Just an fyi...... A 2 stroke engine is supposed to smoke...... You put oil in the gas..... Hence it burns oil...... Thats just how they work......

When we went out last week the water temp was 58, definitely below my comfort level. This weekend we are driving down to st george (about 1.5 hours north of vegas), air temp is supposed to be 85 with the water at about 70.

I understand 2 strokes are supposed to smoke, but this was ridiculous and pretty embarrassing. It was burning too much oil for one reason or another, but it wasn't worth spending time/money on considering the condition of the rest of the boat.

Was it oil injected or a premix engine? If its a premix, its user error for smoking.... Thats just putting too much oil in the gas LOL....
