I called 4 wheel parts to see about any kind of lift for my durango and they said they dont make any my question is there one out there some has put on a 98 durango that looked pretty good and will clear 33 or 35 or if any of yall have done SAS on one might be looking to do that to. any help will be nice thanks guys:drive:

There's nothing for the durango, you actually need to buy late model cheby silverado (99-02 i believe or somewhere in there) lowering shackles, the belltech 6400 series fit nicely and give a good lift, You will need a few washers tho, here's a pic:

i just really hate how the shackles hang down so far. anybody done the add a leaf? how is the ride after it? i assume firmer but i wont mind a little bit of a stiff ride plus a little extra support while towing.

Good choice!
Can't say how it rides though.

How much is that lift the 5.5 tuff country and how hard is it to install

well if i remember correctly(i bought it a while ago) it was like 1300
and I paid a mechanic friend to put it on for me.

I too have the T/C lift, which is currently (I believe) the only lift kit available for a Gen I rango/kota. I think I paid ~$1300 for the kit and another $1000 to have it installed (I had the money at the time and I was too busy with work). It certainly leaves much to be desired, but if you don’t want to throw on shackles and crank up the torsion bars, or lift the body, it’s about the only "easy" way to fit 33”+ tires.

An SAS with new leafs or coil-overs is definitely the way to go IF you are really good at suspension geometry and fabrication, or you have really deep pockets. Also, one BIG benefit of an SAS is that you get to dump the stock upper ball joints that have a reputation of breaking!

Let us know what you decide on, and send pics.

Yeah, it was my first time ever paying to have a lift installed, and it was painful, but, like I said, I had the money and no time.

im currently clearing 33's with just a t/s lift, my tires have huge lugs, and only rubs a nut hair, but im about to purchase the 3in pa lift this week

What are you doing with your nuts down by your tires dude!? :jester:

I agree...T/S lift+3" BL and you're running 33's no prob.

All I had on my Dak was a 3" BL and torsion bars raised almost all the way and I was running 33x12.5 Super Swampers with only minor trimming up front.

cause it was the smalles thing i had to compare at the moment, but yea +1 on the t/s lift and 3in body lift... BUT you can fit 33's with just t/s lift, im doing it right now, and i love the stance, it only rubs a VERY LITTLE, but im afraid, that if i do any wheeling it will rub alot

LOL, good shit.

Yea, if you're going to be under full articulation, you're gonna need to trim a hellava lot more to not rub.
