Hey everyone!
I have a 99' Durango SLT with the 5.9L/46re 4x4 trans.
I was driving the truck and everything was good. One day I was driving 65mph on the highway and I felt a double shift, and then when I came to the stop at the end of the ramp, the Durango stalled out. When I restarted the truck and put in "D", it tried to barely move, but would not go. I tried 2nd and it was the same thing. However, first gear engaged properly and the truck moves. I shifted 2nd at 20mph and it shifted. I went to "D" gear at 40mph and then it shifted to overdrive at 60mph. When I came to another stop, I had to repeat this process for as I mentioned above happened again.
Following and reading the forums, I have changed the trans ducer switch which is located on the valve body, governor solenoid, the filter and ATF+4 transmission fluid. Of course all products are MOPAR from the dealer! This did not fix the problem!
What I'm thinking now is some sort of torque convertor lock up issue?
If I'm in Park and put the truck in "D" and rev it to 3000RPM, it tries to move. This is the same with 2nd.
Once again, if I manually shift it from 1st it shifts properly. My speedometer works, there is no check in lights, no codes and my speed sensor is not out. There is no noise and when I took the transmission pan off, there was minimal amount of metal in the belly which is usually in there. What do you guys think? Any advice would be great....
