Today the Metro Toronto police are giving another graphic example of the consiquences of street racing. In 2004 they confiscated 2 cars in seperate street racing incidents ( I have no idea what they are. Rice burners I assume). Today they are crushing the both of them (I`m not sure if the former owners will be there or not) to emphisize the crack down and zero tolerence for street racing in the city. It would be a real shame to have seen a Dak involved in a similar demonstration. Earlier in the week a guy went to the hospital in very serious condition when he lost control of his corvette while racing another corvette. He crashed hard enough to cut the car in 2 at the firewall and the engine continued down the road a cpl hundred feet by itself. This kind of shit ties up valuble emergency personel who may be needed to help someone else who got into trouble through no fault of their own as opposed to some moron that thinks he`s Mario Andretti but in reality cant drive his finger up his ass!! Had to rant....sorry. Hwystar.

people are dumb about stuff, but its always been around and always will be. if the police start smashin every street racer's car they catch then even more people are gonna get hurt when they all start runin from the cops

That's a pretty good point about the running from the police, but the theory behind their actions does make sense. If people fear losing their rides they might think twice about doing it. Fines don't always work because some people are rich and just don't care, but threaten to take somones car which usually holds much more value to an individual emotionally than a chunk of money and it starts to sink in. But who knows, some poeple are just stupid and nothing will sway their decisions.

I think Ben makes a very good point :clap2:
but I also see how crushin street racer's rides MIGHT stop SOME ppl from racing on the streets...but its not gonna stop everybody, some ppl just dont care. Ppl are gonna street race reguardless of the consequences, I mean...the consequence for commiting murder (in some/most cases) is the death penalty, yet ppl still do it everyday. I know murder and street racing are 2 completely different things (well in a way they are similiar cause innocent ppl die from street racing sometimes too...) but I was just trying to make a point, no matter how high the consequences, ppl are still gonna do dumbass things, and with them still making these gay ass fast and the furious movies, that sure as hell aint gonna help the ppl against street racing's case none...just my .02, and with that said im done

i was just having that conversation with a friend...

im calling a new record in rollovers from imports that weekend
I am gonna love the Tokyo Drift movie. Only b/c it is gonna give me more imports to beat up on at the local strip. Haha.......ricers when will they learn a hand full of stickers and a cold air intake won t give you 500 RWHP. :slap:

it seems like in the past few years, there have been a dramatic increase in the number of deaths related to street racing. we had a couple of incidents here in central fl recently. im thinking about making a small sticker for my back window that says "street racing kills -take it to the track" or "street racing kills -race me at the track" etc. i doubt it will change any street racers perspective but since there is a track so close to me, it might make someone think twice. if not well then it couldn't hurt, its just a sticker.

If you make 1 get 1 for me too. I constantly get people wanting to race me on the street and I never will. I race at the track almost everyweekend anyway

sounds like a plan. if i do ever get around to having them made, maybe i can have a bunch made in different colors and everything and then sell them, not to make a profit but just enough to cover the expenses for making them.

You are all right. If you are determined to kill someone you are going to do it no matter what, death penalty or not. If you are going to street race you are going to do it no matter what, car crushed, licence revoked and in the very near future jail time as the federal gvt in Canada is about to make it a criminal offence same as murder etc. However if these measures along with the awarness that can be raised by forums like this one and others similar can make even a few guys stop and consider what they are doing it will help. Years ago there was street racing as well but as was said above you rarely heard about anyone getting hurt or killed. Populations have grown and the roads are much more crowded now so the danger has increased likewise.
I like that sticker idea alot. Maybe if these could get printed cheap enough ( printer maybe a little charitable with a high volume along with it being a good cause) they could be sold at a little higher price and the proceeds going to M.A.D.D. or something similar? just a thought. Help spread the word lads and if one innocent life is saved then it is all worth it! Hwystar.

The stickers seem like a good idea - but let's be real.

These stupid friggin' punks that race thru traffic in their Hondas are the main culprits. I seriously doubt that many of them are capable of reading - let alone acknowledging the very existance of other cars on the road other than obstacles to try and avoid.

Racers Against Street Racing

Like I said in a previous post. We can brag about beating that Honda or Mustang, but if you went to their site, they would be bragging about how the whipped up on that Dakota or Durango.

Time slips don't lie and my glory lives on in the pages of National Dragster.

I had more fun on saturday loosing third round by 35/1000 of a second to a trailered race car that had to chase me down, them in any of my younger, stupider days running on the street.
