thats it. you'll need to find someone to tune it though. PIE or Hemifever are pretty popular and they sell them too, probably cheaper to buy as a tune/handheld package.

I agree that you might want to buy a new unit from hemifever@aol.com. I've been communicating with him for the past few days, apparently he directly worked with dodge assisting building the maps for the SCT programmer and his pricing can't be beat, IMO.

I've got a 97' Dak CC 318 and was thinking I was locked into Hypertech, I have changed my thinking and I'm going with hemi and his custom tunes.

If you buy a used 9550 without a tune for your engine you will need to pay a tuner for a custom map anyway which will most likely be more expensive then buying all at one time, IMO.

I'll write more after I get mine installed in a few weeks.

YES YES YES!!! im in same boat this guy is awesome and was a very helpful... got a procharger with a SCT tuner and he said no prob with me wanting to change to a t70 setup with lightning injectors and a two bar map. he said i would need a wideband so he can data log. and he was very quick to reply to my email even on a sat... he is gonna have my money very soon :)

Sean is by far, the best customer service guy I've run into yet! I'll data log, or just send an email about a particular symptom, at say, 8 pm on a Saturday night. Next thing I know, I wake up Sunday morning with a "hey, I tweaked this, here, run this tune, and tell me how it works"

I don't know when the guy sleeps!

for example, right now, I'm having a hot-restart issue. I thought it was timing, but he said that there's actually different fuel trims for cold vs hot start, and that it was probably either lean or rich at hot-restarts. he sent me 2 tunes at once and said, "here, try these" one was a richer restart, the other was a leaner restart.

the guy is top notch.

spend your money once, go with sean and buy the unlimited tunes for just $100 more.

I'm planning a full engine swap from a 318 to a 360, and he said 'no problem. let me know when you do it'

I just ordered my SCT/Custom tuning package from Sean...

So far, he's amazing! Had a long email chat over a few days, asking him questions about the SCT programmer, what it does etc, etc weeks before I bought it... Email him and he'll answer all your questions quickly!

For a total of $365, you'll get custom tunes for as long as you have the handheld...

Sure beats a canned tune in a Superchips for around the same price!

That $365 includes the handheld

I have never dealt with Hemifever, but every thing I have read points that he provides outstanding results.

I got my SCT and programming from Chris at PIE and have had excellent results and the same customer satisfaction.

SCT just arrived! I ordered it Saturday, and it's here on Thursday... In Canada! I can only imagine how quickly it would arrive for all of you in America!

Did I mention he's like... Part Jedi knight! He just knows man! He prob sent it like 2 weeks ago.

He's sent me a fresh tune before I even provided input on the last one before!

Will do! Just waiting on SCT to update the PCM database for my tuner, Hemifever... I have one of those rare Durangos that have a half 2002/half 2003 setup under the hood, and not many people who have these late 2002s have had their truck tuned by an SCT tuner!

I'm gonna start calling mine a 2002 1/2...

I have a few choices
I have pretty much same mods as you except I have HO cams as well and a full cat back.
I need to have a wideband to get anything fancier than a canned tune.
One of my main concerns is the efan coming on sooner around 190 degrees
I have replied again and I am willing and ready to get eiother the canned or the unlimited set up as long as the fan operation can be included.

Go with the custom. With the unlimited tuning, efan operation is part of it, and you can do the wideband by hitting a dyno cell and asking for datalogging. I've found shops locally that will do dyno testing for around $70 plus and extra $15 or so for datalogging... And that's in over-priced Canada. I went with the custom tuning, and I'll send Sean data as I get it. In fact, I'm hitting up the Dakota R/T Club national meet in just over 2 weeks (up here) and a dyno session is part of the program!

I am interested in buying SCT tuner also. I remember that I could buy it from a site called RAM AIR, but I can not find the links on the forum. Maybe it doesnt exist. Also i see that on the SCT programmer doesnt have anything for the 2003 4.7 Durango, but they have programming for 2003 4.7 Dakota. Dont they use the same engine?

hey hijack,,get ahold of Sean,,hemifevertuning.com...you won't regret it-awesome service,,great guy to work with!!
