Yea I did the front end in the garage, got it all done in a day so i could roll it back out in the street. then I did the rear end in the street, was super easy though, only took about a half day.

I went with leaf springs all around, got 5 inch shackles from ruff stuff, and because i am a metal worker by trade, i made my own hangers at work. I now have 3/4 ton chevy leafs up front and 1/2 ton ford leafs in the rear. I wanted it to sit low as i could get it and still not have problems with the 37"s. So far so good.

For the steering i went with 1-1/2 dom 1/4 wall tubing and heim joints, i have a ps box from a scout that went on decently well with the added bracing i had to do.

Got my gears and spool for the front today so i will be doing that this weekend, the only other thing i am wanting to get done is a better and more solid rear upper shock mount.

I can try to get more pics, anybody need anything in particular?

Oh and i don't have a front driveline yet either because i need to re-work the drivers side exhaust to hug the trans a little better instead of the loop around the driveline, then ill be in business.

so far though i have to say even with leaf springs all around it rides a sh** ton better than having torsion bars cranked with blocks in rear.

sounds good.... i just got a 9'' rear and d44 front from a 78 bronco... ill be doing an sas pretty soon too... prob in the summer tho when tings slow down... i like the way your trucks turning out... what kind of axles did you use for the sas? what was the biggest pain in the *** throughout the whole project so far?:mullet:

looks good man love the stance... what axles did you use... i wouldnt mind having 35s with a SAS and have a little wider stance i think that looks good though... do you plan on putting on any aftermarket flares or no... and do you plan on running stock bumpers or do you wanna run welded

For the front I went with a 77 F-150 Dana 44 HP and the rear is from a 2001 Econoline Van so I could use the rear speed sensor.
I would have to say the biggest pain in the a** so far has been getting the steering set up decently well/ bracing the steering box. Probably one of the most difficult things. Other than that the whole project was done in 3 days.

At first I had a Dana 44 from a 78 Bronco as well, they are super cheap and easy to find, however unless you are planning on running the stock radius arm set up, don't use it.

I probably won't do any aftermarket flares just because Washington and Oregon aren't that bad at pulling people over for things like that. Plus I work at 530 am and get off at 2 so I don't have to worry about the traffic and what not.

Bumpers are another story, I will probably make my own bumper sometime in the near future. I am a union metal worker by trade and I work in a metal shop so access to tools and metal is nice. (plasma!) I would like something along the lines of toy4whatever's bumpers, at least i think thats who made them.

I actually was planning on using a radius arm setup...but just out of curiosity why wouldnt you recommend it if i wasnt? oh and i know what you mean, I actually had worked in a metal fabbing shop also last year... i was there for about 1 1/2 years...they had every tool you could possibly think of...i actually learned how to weld, torch cut, and plasma cut there...i almost wanna slap myself in the face now every time I think about it...i shouldve sas'ed my truck then...I would've had all this free scrap metal to work with and tools...:funny:

Nice

Lookin good and to get it all done in three days
and working part of the time in the street
Man your dedicated :clap2:

For the front I used 3/4 ton chevy leaf springs, I didn't go for the 63's due to clearance issues but they are 54 inches long. And yes Varsis I did french the shackle hanger into the frame. In my own theory which im sure i will catch flack for, i figured the frame is only boxed in on the front 4 feet or so, and for me to notch out an 8 inch section but still weld and bolt in the bracket, i figured it wouldn't lose too much strength.

a97dakota, I wouldn't use that 78 axle for a leaf spring set-up is what I meant to say. the cast wedges in the axle are in some cases not cast over top of the tube and actually have holes where the wedges attach. It would just be a sh**load more work and effort to gain the same thing from a 76 or so axle.

Yea i was pretty dedicated. Started at 730 am and we normally called it a day about 9 pm. It was pretty damn cold too here those few days.

oh okay...thanks for the heads up man... i really like the way ur rig turned out... ill prob fo the radius arm route because i already bought the axles with em... ill prob just extend em.... i guess ill see how that goes.... thanks for the advice though.... you should post up some flex pics of ur rig and some more pics of when u were doing all that hard work sas'ing it....
