there are a few ways to do the tb modding the least bit is to cut the restrictor plates and smooth around the two intake holes that keeps it at the stock 50mm you can also use a hole saw bit and take the holes out to 52mm and smooth around lots of talk about this on www.thespeedfreaks.net i suggest that you start with some research there

also i suggest you consider doing a modded kegger and a cold air intake such as k&n

The buy the instructions on ebay! 15 bucks and it is as detailed as one can ask for, btw I modify throttle bodies on the side aside from work and school full time. I provide an excellent product for a very good price. Practically cheap as dirt once you consider core charges, shipping, and the extras.

I applaud your industriousness and can appreciate the type of work you're providing, but it's hard to not think of you as 'that guy' if you hit every throttle body conversation with a sales pitch.

The guy posted this 7 days ago looking for help. How much help did he get, nada. You could hack one up with a hole saw and such IF you have all the tools to do it in the first place and considering everything goes correctly, nothing breaks and you have some mechanical skills, now I have offered the guy 2 options that are relatively cheap in the long run. Personally I could care less of what you think anyhow, it's all my happy satisfied customers that I care about. What have you offered this conversation?

I've contributed nothing other than to point out your original post being a sales pitch. My guess on the weak response to the thread itself is that the information is already floating around on the forum -

Regardless of the sidetrack, dude has options:
- he can learn to do it himself, with or without the right tools
- he can purchase a modified one from you at a respectable price
- he can purchase from another vendor, as well.

I don't think the guy is trying to spend alot of money period and that is why he wants to mod his own, he had contacted me a couple of weeks ago inquiring about them, I was just doing a follow up to that. Maybe he will pipe in and let us know what he want to do!

Don't touch it with a hole saw, that's just stupid. A sanding "flap wheel" maybe but not a hole saw

I wouldn't waste the 15 bucks buying instructions either.

take a dremel tool or an angle grinder and either cut or grind off the fins that stick up.... leave the two blocks at the front and back, they help to hold the air hat in place. I put a bevel on the edges of the bores and and knife edge on the edges dividing the two bores. After that I wet sanded it all to get rid of any tool marks.

Some people polish them... I didn't

So u don't do anything to the bottom? And wt about the blades? Do u buff them as well? Do you take the blades out and sand down the inside of the bores and how do u calculate the mm that u want to go to? I know it's alot ofquestions but I'm new at all this cause I'm tired of given want to mechanics my money and the problem just gets worse! I don't want to cause any trouble between users; I'm just want to know the write way of doing things like this!

I didn't change the bore diameter... I didn't even remove the blades. I tried to, if you look closely to the screw on the left you can see it looks bigger in diameter. The screws that hold the blades in are mushroomed on the end, you need to grind them down and then work them back and forth to remove them ( like a tap). I didn't know this and snapped the head of the screw, so I left them in.

If you want to make the bores bigger you'll have to make new blades which is very difficult to do unless your a machinist. The blades are oval not round and if they don't fit properly they could either stick or cause a high idle.

If you want to get a bigger bore then I would suggest just buying a new TB

you dont do anything to the flappers and i personally wouldnt touch the bottom dont see any real reason to i would say just use a dremal to smooth down the edges of the holes and and cut the walls off the top then sand it smooth and if u dont have a dremal they arnt to expensive to buy pluse if u do a kegger mod you will use it again or just barrow a friends if they have one

if you have any questions feel free to ask me and if i dont know the awnser ik someone who does

also if you do it urself dont rush it just take your time and keep a study hand

Ok! I think I can do it! But wt about the bolt for the airhat! Can I just use the same one?
Nope, take that off, there's a plate right over the ports that restricts air. Just make an s-bolt out of 1/4-20 rod as a replacement. I'll see if I can find the specs.

I had pics in my photobucket
