for the first question, there are TONS of resources that can explain in pretty simple term out there.....google should pull this up rather easily....

for the second, if you have 2-600wRMS subs, then 2x600 = 1200.....so you should look for an amp that does 1200, AT THE CORRECT LOAD OF THE SUBS. it could be more or less depending on a few variables, but if it does the power at the wrong impedence, it's useless.

Just so you know, by he means the ohm load, such as 4 ohm, 8 ohm, dual 4 ohm, etc. IF your subs require 600 watts RMS and they are 4 ohm then you want an amp that will give you the power you need at a 4 ohm load.
