Question on the plenum gasket
Would there be a significant power loss?

My R/ts got 212 xxx km
It has no balls to it
I have to push the gas right to the floor from 100 to reach 140 and tht takes forever

My other r/t had a rebuilt motor and it hauled..

So im wondering if it would be the plenum gasket? if so how do u tell?
Could it be its just a tired out motor or..?

Anytips would be great
it doesnt burn oil, runs fine.

Also crusing 100km an hr, RPM is at 2000, and 120 is like 2300 RPM
Is that normal or..

im pretty sure, you are supposed to look down the throttle body for oil pooling up at the btm. and it can tell if ur plenum gasket is leakin. if im wrong im sure someone will chime in and fix it

I saw "140" and thought "No way in HELL this guy's R/T is going 140 mph. Than I saw the Km.

And 440kota is right, take the airhat off, and open the butterfly vales up and look down the throttle body, if you see oil you need to replace the plenum gasket

i looked down it and it didnt seem like it had anything really had a small amount of film but i only seen a small drop or two near the corner bolt holes but maybe lik eliterally 1 drop or two the rest was just some film wich id say is normal. i had read how to do it but i never did it myself so im glad mine looks ok for now.

same, i looked down the tb, it looked like a very small break in the gasket..
just a light film on the left side.. but nothing major..

I drove it on the hwy for about 30 km Doing 90 km/h at 2000 rpm and used an 8th of a tank..

My old R/T did a 3.5hr drive giving her and only used half a tank..
So i duno whats up with this one..

have u did a tuneup on ur r/t in a while? like plugs, wires, and cap/button? because if u havent did one or if truck has had one it can hurt your mileage and power, id check that and see

but the film on mine all across the btm but very light film and dont see place in my gasket tho.
also when i get my r/t back on the road in next week or two hopefully ill try and watch km/h and see what rpm she runs at.

you should have a light film or mist from the pcv venting to the manifold. If the plenum was bad, you would have pools of oil. You would also have a vac leak that should be visible on a gauge.

Do you still have the stock cats on the truck? A clogged cat or a plugged muffler will make it run like this. An exhaust shop should be able to hook a back pressure gauge up to it and tell you pretty quickly.

I replaced the plugs, full oil change, ran nitro lube cleaner in the gas couple times(it helped)

The exhaust is old and aftermarket.
It has an one cat, old, and a single in dual out muffler, its a crap job.
I think its restricting it some
I have put a new upper O2 sensor in, but not a lower one..

But is it normal for this motor to cruise at 90km/h at 2000rpm?

If I remember correctly(Since I typically don't drive 55 mph) is my R/T usually spins around 2K around 50-55
