Well I just got my truck on the road a few days ago, and since then it has only pissed down rain. Of course this is my first truck, well my first vehicle. I worked on it for about 2 months getting it street legal again, and finally it was done. Before this I have been used to all 4 cylinders of power on a 06 pontiac wave, FWD and everything. I have a well rounded experience in drifting in video games, but holy shit, its almost scary how easy it is to get the truck sideways on wet roads. Like I was coming out of tim hortons and JESUS, as soon as the wheel turned it pretty well went sideways, and by no means am I a lead foot in the thing cause I can't afford to be, especially when there are brand new friggin tires on the thing. Anyone else experience this? It almost scares me to think of winter now.

you must have some SHITTY tires. this only happened to me one time I was in my Aunt's 06 Tundra with shitty japanese tires I've never even heard of, with plenty of tread, and I turn off a stop sign going left and im spinning out. you have to have shitty tires or you literally stomped the gas.

Need to pay attention to the road surface too...not all roads are created equal.

Don't worry about winter, just lock it in 4hi if it's slippery. That won't make you invincible, but it'll help to keep you in a straight line.

My old '01 RC 4x4 3.9L with 32x11.50s with PLENTY of tread would try to get sideways turning from a stop sign if you used anything over slight acceleration when roads were wet.

This '02 Dak I have now will almost always spin the right rear tire if you don't baby it when its wet out. Of course this one needs tires eventually.

My truck does great in rain, it'll only spin the tires if I tell it to, even on this brutal hill that has a stop sign at the peak of it. I did a very small amount of snow driving with it at the tail end of last winter (when I got the truck.) It didn't do great, but not as bad as I expected. I use firestone destination A/T's

My truck is a BLAST in the rain with the locker, favorite time to drive it. I can't wait til this winter, I put it in right as the snow was melting last year and didn't really get to play with it.

If you are worried about in the winter, go to an empty parking lot (without any poles if your that bad lol) and play around til you get the hang of it.

Get an SUV with an open diff if you don't want to slide around corners, I had to throw my Blazer HARD into a corner to get it to slide...in the snow :( One wheel wonders FTL.

any given truck will have little weight over the rear axle, plus it is rear wheel drive ,a natural trait would be power oversteer.compared too a front wheel drive. my girlfriends 97 dakota 5.3l magmun peels rubber at 50 % of intersections, she getting used too it as well, and having fun with her 318 ci,and laughing at 4.6l chevy

I guess I'm just easier on my gas pedal than you guys. It will do a mean burnout if I want it to though. haha

I am slowly getting the hang of it. It has only pissed rain since I got the damned thing plated. Sometimes, it just feels right to slide :D But as I am a young driver (17) if I get pulled over first thing the cop will think: Its on purpose, nail him with what ever you can. I have been driving it more and more, just hit 120km on between the 2 days I have owned it, and you guys are right, if you baby it, its fine.

yep, 100% city. I've seen a few people around here who get worse though. I haven't seen any other 5.9 owners who keep track with fuelly

The tires are Trail Marks. the bill said $500 for all 4 tires. So they couldn't be THAT cheap... Maybe I am really not used to the power, and need to go more gently.
figure $100 for everything but the tires.
thats $100 ea. not bottom of the list for LT's but close

a lot of people here talk like they are driving a golf. hop on the gas and go. i used to do that, till i realised i got 3mpg more if i baby it. i got shit bald tires and before i changed my habits any turn was oversteer. i drifted an onramp with friends in the truck and almost pissed. i had it the whole time but i did not even want it. now that i backed down and started driving to keep the TC locked up and droving like a granny (no sower mind you, only changing acceleration) i haven't lost traction
