Picked up half the paint and primer as well as a bunch of other supplies, nothing like getting the paint for $15 a quart with a good buddy discount. I made it to the shop for only a hour or so, but I did manage to get the master cylinder, all the ABS components and some odds and ends stripped off.

One thing that impresses me is how solidly these trucks are put together. Having built several S10's and Rangers, I have to say this thing is designed much more solid. Though the downside being it takes longer to tear it all back apart. lol

Now that it is coming apart, I keep finding myself debating whether to say screw it and just work on the rest of the body work and paint, and not worry about putting the V6 back in, or do I keep it driveable while building the other engine? I'd rather not risk damaging the paint by bolting in all the nonsense required for the V6, but I would like to drive it.

Oh, and since this is technically a 'bodywork' issues, this is what happens when a junk ass Mac tools ratchet explodes when removing seized and corroded starter bolts.

(They were replaced promptly today with some sweet fine-tooth Snap On ratchets. :D )

Pulled the engine today and removed a few more underhood items, will finish pulling the trans and the rest of the wiring and doghouse Tuesday and Wednesday, then I can start removing the front suspension and cleaning the frame up.

If your using a chevy motor why not paint it like a chevy? chevy orange with white ss stripes maybe?

Ive got a neighbor with a Sublime Green Charger and he bought it new and it sits out side 24/7 and the paint still pops.

Put a couple extra coats of clear on top to protect it.

BTW What GM motor are you putting in???

It is definitely getting buried under several coats of clear.

I'm building a 383/Th400 combo for it, but focusing on the body and paint first.

Have been busy with work and getting some other projects done, so haven't had as much time as I had wished to work on the truck this week, but I did get it jambed out and the firewall primed. I decided to paint the entire inside of the cab as well, it would bug me like crazy to know there was yellow under the carpet. :jester:

Btw, spraying without a respirator or decent charcoal mask is not that fun. Hence why the pics aren't better, I was pretty buzzed by the time I took these, haha.:funny:

I should have the interior primed tomorrow night, and then I can focus on the inner fenders and start on the exterior. I also sent my block off to be tanked, bored and cam bearings installed.

BAD ASSS I love the green...and the fact your putting a 383 in it. hahaha peopke give me shit about my 454 in my Plymouth

Thanks man.

It's sort of funny, the Mopar guys give me shit for not going all Mopar, and the Chevy guys give me shit for putting it in a pig. I can't win. :jester:

It really pops. The yellowish tint to the green is growing on me.

Nice! I love it when people use bold colors on their vehicles. Sometimes I feel like I'm in Japan the way most have these drab or white colored vehicles. (*cough* gray *cough*)

But why did you paint the inside of the cab? I've been doing extensive work in mine and I can't even remember if any of that even showed. Are you doing it for rust protection?

I painted it just in case later down the road I want to make changes and remove the carpet or something it won't need resprayed, but the true reason is OCD is a bitch. haha

When I am done, there will be no hint it was ever yellow.

Just not feeling the black wheels at all.. Other than the wheels, You have a sweet looking truck.. :clap2:

BTW; I just took the time and read thru your build thread.. WOW!!! Nice work..
I have to agree, your truck is awesome but the black wheels just scream that something's missing. I forget the guy's name (OrangeDakota or something?) but he recently repainted his Dakota an orange color with airbrushed skulls, one of the things he did was paint the wheels black but there was a circle or orange right where the wheel joins with the tire. That subtle change might look awesome on your wheels.

I got a quote for like $230-250 to get my stock rims powder coated flat black. I think a green pinstripe on them would be neat and break up the black, that and yellow raised tires will work well I think (on mine).
